1. was so happy so see U2 let the Glastonbury riff see the light of day, now Muse are doing it with one of their riffs too.

    i needa hear this live.
  2. I'm really not sure how I feel about this song. I really like the riffs they are using and some aspects of the instrumentation, but I'm not sold on the lyrics and I'm really not sold on the drill sergeant. The theme of disorder and chaos that has ruled Muse's style is clearly present here, but unlike their other works it just feels incredibly forced.

Much like I was about The 2nd Law after hearing Unsustainable, this song has left me hesitant about the next album.
  3. Having a massive go at the US military. Think there'll be any backlash from writing a song like this?

Songs growing on me heaps though. Killer riff
  4. Very nice! The riff is familiar but it didn't surprise me as they said somewhere that Citizen Erased is going to get a sequel? So more throwbacks to their earlier work on the way?

Also the riff might be a nice seque in live shows to other songs if they use it as an outro and continue with this one.

According to Matt, the long-awaited so-called "sequel" to Citizen Erased is included in this album, yes. It's a shame because in this case I'm 120% certain that part II won't be better than part I, no matter how hard they try
  6. 48 hours to go. I couldn't be more excited Not knowing anything besides Psycho makes it even more exciting - and it will be the most important bootleg I'll ever record!

I highly doubt it. Muse has taken this sort of stance against established states many times before. It's part of their appeal.
  8. They've never been this explicit, though. I love the criticism towards every and any army, specially agains the US one ok this is not a political forum, but you get my point

I like the song much more today after a couple more listens, although it's maybe too long for a first album preview. It's like an extended live version with all the pauses and bridges, which is fine, but I think something a bit more straightforward and short would have worked better. But then again, this is not the lead single, just a preview... I'm really curious about Dead Inside though, I think it might be about (or influenced by) Matt's break up.
  9. Meh I still can't get into this song. But I know that Muse can be hit/miss for me sometimes...
