1. I am guessing most people here have read this already, but here is Edge saying they want to have Songs of Experience out within 18 months: http://www.atu2.com/news/edge-songs-of-experience-in-18-months-or-so.html

First of all, I knew never to trust Bono when it comes to album release predictions. Second, if SOE doesn't come out until September 2016, does this mean the "eXPERIENCE" part of the I & E tour only includes the last 3 months of the tour (if 2016 is supposed to be stadiums)? Or does this mean your dates extending into 2017, as well?

Could mean all of the above!
  3. The experience side might just mean the songs they and us have experience of... I still think something may happen in that month gap between US and Europe.
  4. I am willing to bet that the band has yet to announce all the legs of the tour.
  5. 6th London show announced.
  6. I'll be going for that one, no mistakes this time

Edge shared his thoughts on Songs Of Experience during a radio interview that aired today on TodayFM's The Mix Up show (starts around 29:00).

"The question of when the album gets finished is very open," he said, adding that the band is busy with tour prep right now. "We are pushing hard to try to get the album done and out within, we hope, 18 months or so, but it's so hard to predict. ... (W)e don't want to release anything that we haven't had a chance to really finish to our satisfaction. ... It's not a case of putting six weeks aside to make an album. It's that we want it to be everything we want it to be.

Well the details say it all....very open....to try......we hope.....18 months or .so....but it's so hard to predict....really finish to our satisfaction........
This could mean a release 5 years after SOI as well.....this what happened after the same talk about SOA....
  8. 2020 it is.
  9. I think the difference here is that they were very clear from the outset that this is a two-album campaign. I'm willing to bet they have like 20 songs set aside for it but that they need to finish.

I think my favourite thing about this is that Edge says it's not about just setting aside some time to finish it. Reading At The End of the World again right now and just finished the bit where they spent your time between legs working on Zooropa and then flew back to Dublin after shows on the European leg to finish it. Obviously they're not the same guys as they once were, but it's still sort of funny.
  10. I still wonder if they intend to give the songs some live performances before actually releasing/completing the album.
  11. Any idea of when we are going to see an official announcement about the stage/format of the tour? I thought we saw pictures of the 360 stage the day the tour was announced, not just a stadium seating chart on Live Nation.

There won't be any announcement, or at least there wasn't for the last tour.
We'll just have to wait until they start assembling things on a place where we can see something
