1. I can understand why this might be exciting, but all I can picture are old dudes sitting around a table thinking they know what young people think is cool lol. Snore.

  2. As far as I understand the article, this is the point of the association, not exactly "young people"...

    Sometime last August...

Bono: Hey you know what would be cool? We should give everyone our new album for free!

Edge: Yeah that sounds great! Young people love free stuff!

Boy did they get that one wrong.
  4. hasn't Apple spent 20 years teaching a generation that the 'right' thing to do is to pay for music.....

    NO second album
    NO hint of (recordings) rehearsals
NO hint of what either concert will actually be (remember the statement about both shows being different!)
NO detailed pictures / discussion about 'actual stage' design
NO rules / guidelines put forth about GA?
... we are only 5 weeks away.

The album isn't that important at the moment given they've not even toured this one.

As for the guidelines and rules about GA - now that's important. Five weeks away, hope for all of you going they don't just come out with it a week prior. Things will be a mess, no doubt.
  6. That's why it's even more hilarious that U2 announced their Apple partnership by telling all Apple users that receiving free music is the right thing to do. U2 starts the Apple takeover by confusing their consumer base.
  7. I'd say...last time we had such U2 silence when we really expected news we got the surprise album release. Before that it was Invisible. Seems to be Guy Oseary's MO - much different to McGuinness who made a lot of noise.

I'm not too worried about it. I hope Bono is doing fine. We know rehearsals are going on ...for all we know they could even be recording for the new album. I'm expecting a sudden surge of news once we're much closer to the date.
  8. didn't think the switch of managers would show this clearly. interesting.
  9. They weren't this secretive for previous releases and the one main element that changed was the manager...I could be wrong.
  10. You are quite possibly right
  11. I don't think I like al this silence.... it's tedious.
