    Maybe I overreacted then

But I disagree. Bad was special back in 1984-1990 when they played it every show, I can still listen to bootlegs back to back and get excited when Bad comes on. Streets is still very special to me when it comes on these days. I dunno. 90% of the people who go see U2 don't follow the setlists like the people around here do, so I don't see why playing it every night again is a bad thing.

I think the real reason they make it "special" is because Bono has a hard time with it and doesn't want to NOT do it justice.

  2. It would've been funnier/scarier to request a banda song (thank god I never listen to the radio anymore, so while I know who Fey is, I will have to guess that Gatos en el Balcón is a song of her)

depends on what you mean by special... the song is special or the show is special because they're playing it...
I don't know, I wouldn't mind if Bad is played every single show, just like Streets (sorry Sydney).

My comment was more towards the fact that Bad -unlike Streets, WOWY, One, SBS, et al- was barely played (10%) the last tour, so they (U2) could watch today votes and think "mmh... people is not really interested in us bringing back Bad, perhaps is time to shelve it"...
...but I hope they're smart enough to understand that we are assuming that they'll bring it back anyway, so why vote for it.

hahha i don t think they think that . I think they already know wich songs the people want . The problems are the fans ( We )

ditto. I tried to go for songs that are little gems to me but don't get played often or at all on tour like flower child or a sort of homecoming, the ground beneath her feet etc

that ´s the idea i think. It have no sense to go with New year s day , WOWY , Mystriuos ways , etc

Anyway the results are a bit obvious for me . Songs that never been played or just a few times and some loved songs like ASOHC , WGRIYWH , IGWSHA , SATS
  6. Everybody's voting "I sort of love acrobat..."

I like seeing "exit" and "cruel" getting some love...
...no elvis and america, though (not that I expected it, but still)
  7. Not sure how accurate this site is, but it reckons there's been about 35,000 tweets today for #U2request.
  8. Impressive. And there are a good few hours ahead yet!

I bet the initial organizers didn't suspect there would be this amount of tweets
  9. Yeah I've read that too. And the US evenings are not even started!

I don't really get this argument, and I feel like it's only the people who've gotten the chance to hear it live who make it.

Why not play it at every show like they used to so every fan can hear it? A song like One Tree Hill being played to the new New Zealand audience I understand, that's different. But Bad is a fan favourite and it's arguably the song that put them into the big-time at Live Aid. I'd like to hear it and I don't care if I get lucky enough that they only play it at my show. Concerts/tour setlists to me aren't meant to be studied and followed show-to-show. U2 has never changed their set based on that philosophy and for the most part we get the same set of songs night after night. I don't understand why adding Bad to that list is a bad thing.

If they play it at every show, it would still be very special if I got to hear it.
I haven't heard Bad live so thats not why I said it. But I was just making that comment from a ''bootleg/following it from home'' point of view. I absolutely love Bad, one of my favourite songs, but I think one of the reasons why Bad is so special and loved is that it hasn't been a played to death while other songs have.

I get your point yeah, it's still a bit special whereas not many fans here would still love to see songs like Walk On, One, Pride or even Streets, while that would be the opposite for 'mainstream' fans.
