    My Portugese isn't what it just to be :P But this says that U2 will tour in 2016 in Europe from may, will play in Lisbon two months later and that the name of the tour will change (?)
  3. It say that they will play more than 2 shows in Lisbon . Also say that it will be from May to July and then on September they will return to North America . And then say that the name of that part of the tour will be "Volcano tour"

  6. I don't believe a word, it sounds mostly made up. Moreover, the MEO Arena is... well, an arena, while every other report (including the band's) has suggested that the 2016 tour will happen in stadiums.

    Blitz source is Nuno Braamcamp from local promoter Ritmos e Blues which promoted Popmart, Vertigo and 360 shows in Portugal.
  8. Yeah, remember the 6x6 Tour rumour? It originated from a -recently deceased- Spanish journalist who had succesfully predicted and announced all previous U2 shows in Spain since 1992 with a 100% accuracy.

    I take that Portuguese news as this: conversations for 2016 shows are already happening (as they're probably happening for many other cities and countries) and someone has heard something, which has become "confirmed" out of nowhere.

    I'm Portuguese and I can tell you Blitz is not the most reliable source around... They used to be good but nowadays it's rumour based most of the time.
    Also, Nuno Braamcamp said U2 would come to Portugal during 360's first leg and they didn't...
    They say in the article not only that it will be called Volcano Tour but that the stage would resemble a volcano witch I highly doubt it!!

    Yep. It's basically the same rumours that arose for the IE tour some months ago, refurbished into a 2016 hoax
