  6. first thing I read this morning as well. sad, sad news... my sincerest condolences to the mullen family and friends. may they and larry especially find strength in the next weeks to come...
  7. We owe Larry Mullen Snr such a lot, as it was down to his encouragement that Larry put 'that'notice on the board at school in 1976.

    Apart from that, its important to remember that Larry has just lost his father and his children have lost their grandfather.

  8. When my dad passed away a couple of years ago (and a week), I was totally numb for a couple of months, even if we weren't really close.

    Hopefully playing shows helps Larry get over it.

  11. I'm glad that Larry Jr. wrote that piece from a few months ago. Hopefully he was able to reflect and appreciate his father while he was still here. Like paulc said, Larry Sr. is the reason we have U2! Rest in peace and best wishes to Jr. and the rest of his family/friends.
