Joe and some of the GA queue have been investigating the process while waiting in Vancouver. If your card is damaged, you will be told to collect tickets at the box office. This means you'll lose your spot in the line/GA. I'd also therefore assume that once you have your ticket, you'll have to rejoin the line? That would be a real kick in the teeth. Scott walked past the box office in a Periscope video and it's on the lower concourse, while the gates were on the upper level.
