1. The VIP package includes a really nice gift Photos courtesy of U2valencia:

  2. xxxxx of 30,000?
    VIP??
    yes nice...but
  3. Interview with Bono, Es Devlin, and Willie Willaism for BBC 4's Front Row - Link

And that gift is sweet! How much were VIP tickets though
  4. Is it a spoiler to say how much songs they're playing?

Anyway, I think it's not enough honestly. Could get more during the tour, but the fact that there isn't an opening act I think the lenght is a bit short for the amount of money they asked. I'm not really the type of guy to complain about money and the things I get back for it, but I do think it's kinda short.
When they announced ''an evening with U2''' I was expecting some more, maybe an acoustic show before the real show or something.

Anyone agree, or is this just a stupid complain by someone who hasn't been at a show?
  5. I concur
  6. I get the feeling that Bono is getting to old for this now. I am a u2 fan for 30 years and for the first time a have this feeling. I heard the first 2 shows and i am not happy with Bono at all. It's not all bad but still....I think this is a bridge too far.
Maybe it will be better when the tour moves on. I hope so.

I'm OK without opening act. I go to see U2 after all.

On the other comment below: yes, Bono is getting older, his voice is weaker etc. But then he is 55. I hope he could manage his voice better, but I'm not sure he will. E.g. I wouldn't sing some of the Vertigo lyrics (the 'swinging into the music' bit), or songs such as Out of Control. Even Raised by Wolves and the end of Cedarwood Road feel like a strain. But then Bono's always been straining his voice - he won't change!

24 ain't that bad - remember they played 19-21 as a standard on the Zoo TV tour I'm not comparing tours so please don't answer to that anyone, it's just as an example. If they go up to 25-26 throughout the tour it will be welcome but 24 is nice enough I think.

PS. Agree on the "an evening with U2" though, that gave us high hopes

I think he has sounded good, but I agree that he seems to be on the limit of what he can do every night.
And looking at that Larry's elbow is not exactly encouraging.
Once said that, 24 is not that bad.
  10. Without giving anything away (but maybe this is..) are nights 1 and 2 that different?

I totally agree with you. When I heard that there would be no opening act you would expect then to play for well over 2.5 hours.

Again, I love this band and I love what I have seen of the I & E Tour through bootlegs and YouTube videos but part of me wishes that they would strip it down (lose the technology so they are not forced to stick to such a structured setlist).
