    The miracle / Volcano / California / EBW full band all as potential openers with EBW piano only rotating if full band version is opener
  3. I wouldn't sign that petition, though I'm enjoying The Miracle as the opener. People like to singalong to any ooooh ooooh oooh's available.

    But yes please to rotate Even Better and Mysterious Ways. Although then again, people love those, so...

    The show is great as it is now, imho. It always could be improved in general, even more for every particular person, but even if they don't, it's still great.

    If they rotate Real thing with The fly & Mysterious ways with Wild horses people would be happy enough IMO
  6. I personally would be OK with this but I don't think the songs you suggested match up in terms of vibe? (Even though they are from the same album.

    I see EBTTRT as "fun rocky" and Fly as "kick ass rock"? This could work but Horses, even though I LOVE it does not match the groove of Mysterious Ways.

  11. sadly, probably it won't.

    There's enough material to come up with 10 amazing shows without repeating but a handful of songs... we can create great shows with nothing but songs never played before, great shows with nothing but bsides and rarities, etcetera. They have way too many too great songs.
    And sadly many of them have already been sung for the last time.

    And it's unfair to compare any show with all the "ifs" and "coulds" and "imagines" of the possibilities.

    I see it as the NFL challenges... we can dream or wish any number of alternatives to what they've decided to play, but unless there's "incontrovertible evidence" of a bad choice, there's no point of being upset about it, because there's really no need for the call to be overturned, and most likely it won't.

    Miracle is the perfect opening? no, I agree. But there's no "incontrovertible evidence" of being a bad choice neither, so there's no need to be upset of that choice, we better deal with it and accept it and learn to enjoy it.

    Same goes for every other song and for the "lack" of rotation.

    I'd say that maybe the closer we have to an "incontrovertible evidence" -and I'm just talking among fan forums, not necessarily among casuals- is ISHF as a closer, but that's it.

    I don't enjoy Mysterious Ways too much, but clearly I'm on the minority according to the crowd reactions to it. Would I be happy if they replaced that with Discotheque or even better with Crystal Ballroom? Sure! Do they HAVE to do it? of course not, what they're doing right now it's obviously working, regardless of if the alternative would work better or not.
    What should I do? go over and over every show with "they should be playing TCB instead of MW!" "MW again?!" "ugh I can't believe they're not playing TCB" "tonight surely they'll play TCB! don't disappoint me guys!"... or just accept and try to enjoy MW? I find it more rewarding to just accept it as they decided to do it.
