the mep3 isn't too bad. The sound quality is good, you can just hear that 128kp/s. Found a pair of Bose eadphones that my mum got me from New York a month back. Far better than the shite white ones. The Senheisser C400's are due out very soon so i'm gonna hold off and get those.

In case you didn't guess, I'm in!

umm...doesn't seem so clear now...have to pull out of this week, sorry guys
  9. I've got a crazy weekend, so I'm going to post some quick thoughts now:

Audio quality was okay (3 out of 5 in my opinion), but it had some pretty major glitches throughout. Bass was almost non-existent, which I'm discovering is a pretty common problem in these bootlegs (particularly audience recordings)

One of the highest energy gigs I can remember listening to, which is really cool to think about. Here's a band coming off their first major album our, and they're coming home (somewhat) after playing across Europe and the United States. The crowd sings along and really carries the show for a lot of the songs. You can tell the guys are really having fun and enjoying themselves at this show.

"I'm a Believer" snippet was awesome. I love how Bono even says "Let's try that again."

"Stories for Boys"....oh, how I wish they'd bring this song back to the setlists in its entirety. I would probably crap my pants out of sheer joy.

Nice to see some songs that I'm not that familiar with in the setlist: Boy-Girl and Fire, to be specific. Also great to see the band trying out some songs from the October album....

Overall, I love this bootleg. Sure, the audio quality isn't spectacular, but the crowd's energy alone makes it worth having. Oh, to be able to jump in a time machine and check out the band's early shows......

Sound: Kind of rough. Rated at a 4 but I would say 3. Some parts are really hard to distinguish what's going on.

    Good:
    Twilight: love the old stuff
    I Fall Down:
Into the Heart: Love them feeling on this track.
Fire: Definitely not the best song they've written but its interesting enough to hear it live
    Stories For Boys: Great tune
Boy-Girl: Wicked old tune. I just love the unpolished U2. The "I'm a believer" snippet is great!

    The Bad:
The Ocean: Just feel like there's no presence to this song

    Overall;
Besides the sounds quality not being that great, this is one rocking boot. You ear adapt to the sounds quickly. The energy throughout the show is great. I'd recommend this boot.

    Have a great holiday everyone!

    Sound: 3 stars
    Performance: 4.5 stars
  11. So I think I am the next to choose. If I am wrong forgive me. I won't be around tomorrow so I'll go ahead and post the next show. Thought we could use some October tour!

Overall I felt this was a great show. The energy was there, from both the band and the crowd. The audience seemed to have an intense passion, especially during the opening numbers. As mentioned by the previous posters, this is truly just a 3 star recording (I'll change it in a minute).

    PROS

--I Fall Down was good as usual. By far one of the most underrated U2 songs.
--I Will Follow was amazing! Is it just me, or was this song way more exciting during the Boy Tour?
--The Electric Co. is an all-time favorite of mine, and the Yankee Doodle snippet fit well in the middle/end of the song.
--Things to Make and Do makes a rare appearance
--Stories For Boys great. I think it's obvious that this was a live staple during the early days.
    --Great band performance

    CONS

--Audio quality left a little to be desired, but still a decent recording for 26 years ago.
--Boy-Girl is atrocious. Never been a fan of this song
--Not a big fan of Fire
