1. hey guys i was just wondering on your thoughts regarding on how many more years do you think u2 will record and tour the world, i hope they will be like the stones just keep on going but i somehow think they will call it going out noticed rather then fade away, what are your thoughts if any on this? just value the the time we have left with the worlds greatest band, but cant help asking the question
  2. Never
  3. I'm honest, I really, really don't wanna think about it.
  4. For as long as they feel that people loves the stuff they do. And I mean the "new" stuff, not the classic stuff.
If they feel that people cares basically just about their past instead of their present, it's over.

I think they've liked the crowd response so far to SOI, so I'd expect that that should be encouraging enough for them to finish and release SOE.

Adam said the other day (don't remember where I read that) that maybe they'll stop caring so much about being relevant outside the fanbase and start making music for the fans they already have, which -hopefully- could mean that they won't care that much in making "perfect" albums and stoping that much about having hits, but just playing and releasing what they have.
(Just in case, I don't think that means that they'll start playing the music old time fans want them to play, just that they would play new stuff hoping that at least their die hard fans will like it even if no one else cares).

How much time would that be?
If they continue caring that much about being relevant, just SOE.
If they change focus and start releasing albums for "smaller" crowds, I'd count on some 10/15 years more and then we'll see...

Adam is rocking the grey. I really don't think he looks old at all.

I'm thinking they are going to go outside on this tour? Maybe not though. But I think SOE is coming. I'd love for them to have "that" song that reaches people again.

I'm sad that there have been no hits from SOI. The Miracle was great, the commercial was cool. I wish it had struck a chord.

Every Breaking Wave too should have been a mega hit.

Nobody will be able to take over U2. Sure, other artists get radio time, but people will ask "who had the record breaking tours" and everyone will have to concede to U2. Highest net and average attendance plus highest grossing tour ever.

Plus, with satellite radio, music streaming services, and the fact that everyone and their mother has some sort of mobile music device, radio time in this era is practically meaningless.

yes they have the records and they have broken there own but its the kids of today that annoy the fuck outta me with there shitty music, parents should be showing there kids the good music! and only u2 fans will know about the highest grossing tour and all that, its the kids of today that are changing music into something thats not even music in my book
  10. honestly I never seen Bieber/Swift as U2 competition, they're 2 different genres.

It's like comparing U2 with Bach or Sinatra...
(Just like I never compared U2 with the Backstreet Boys or the New Kids before)
