    Hey man kids are what kids are. The interesting thing (going a bit into the topic of brain development) is that people form their musical identities in the teenage years. I was exposed to U2 as a 16 year old, so it ultimately shaped my musical identity. Kids these days are listening to Bieber and Swift as teens, which ironically means they will continue to listen to Bieber and Swift as adults. When that happens, the new generation will be open to things that are not those.

    yeah true, but in 60/s70s/80s the talent was so much betterso whatever people chose to listen to was not even comparable to this generation of talent , today there is just s much shit out there, i mean on the kid subject i am one, only 21 been into bands way before my time and i grew up appreciating bands 10 15 20 plus years before my time, i do not listen to todays "music". so yeah your right on everything you said

    See I find comments like this to be extremely annoying. I happen to be a fan of a lot of genres (admittedly I HATE Taylor Swift) but I've seen comments from people on this forum and a lot of the time they seem very narrow and only seem to be fans of one genre or group of bands.
  10. lol at people turning a blind eye that U2 were one of the world's biggest pop act of 1987.

    It's all relative folks. Let people like what they like. Musical climate doesn't matter much for artists with dedicated fan-bases that transcend eras. How on earth do you think Pearl Jam is still going? The public eye hasn't cared about them sine like 1994.
  11. I think I've mentioned this a couple years back here, but I think the band will eventually stop touring, however they will probably never stop making music together.

    tbh I think it'll be the other way around. I expect them to go on tours without any new music in the bag.
