1. The Handler is another brutal song Defector is nice but the "Of the soCIE-tyyy" vocal harmonies are so over the top I can't handle them. Revolt sounds a bit poppy (specially Matt's vocals on the choruses) but still better than 90% of the past 2 albums' poppy songs. Aftermath left me breathless. The start sounds like a mix of U2's One and Dire Strait's Brothers In Arms. The Globalist doesn't live up to its name and expectations (Citizen Erased's sequel) but it's an incredible song anyway. And WTF was Drones (the song)? I mean W T F ? I don't care about the concept album shit, this is the worst album closer ever.

Overall a very good album, not really astonishing (for the moment) but surely much better than T2L and probably better -aka more consistent- than The Resistance. 7 / 10 at the moment. Some will grow and some will tire as time goes by but very nice for now.

Now bring on that tour dates..........
  2. After few listens: Like it
Didn't like Dead Inside, bu it grew on me and like it more and more. Psycho would be better without that brainwashing sergeant, but the riff is great and verses temind me of Uprising. Psycho, Reapers and Handler are great heavy rock tracks, Mercy and Revolt are plain poppy songs, think I will skip em. Aftermath is nice, when I heard first tones for the first time, I was like " One!" Globalist is like two or three different songs in one, love the riff which starts the second half. Last song Drones is just some kind of final requiem or what. Just a concept thing.
Overal it is so far 7,5 - 8/10 I think it would be equal to if I did one album off best songs from last two albums. But it might stil change, time wil tell. As Sergio said: Bring on the tour dates!
  3. Wow it's looong, nobody is gonna read it

Basically agree. Too high of a rating for me but agree! Nice you also heard "One" at the start of Aftermath haha

  5. When was the last time a sequel lived up to the original anyway?

All in all, I'm still not sure how I feel about the album, I have to give it a few days/weeks/listens.
  6. What do you think of the lyrics of Defector?
  7. Album is a solid 8 IMO. Second half is growing on me more and more. And I can't get Defector out of my head!!! Sooocieeetyyyyy!
  8. Third listen today. I've deleted Drill Sergeant and Drones from the tracklist and I think I will mix the songs so the flow into each other, just for listening pleasure.
  9. Have listened through a couple of times.. I really like it. It's like all my favorite parts of Muse all mashed up together. I know it's probably not many people's favourite song but I'm really enjoying Revolt... It's early days but i'd probably rate it around an 8/10 at the moment but its likely to maybe slide up to a 9
