  1. Hey i just read that Bono had drug problems during the PopMart tour... is there anyone who can tell more of this, how big his problems were?

  4. There are lots of idiots rumours about U2. The most recurrents are:

    - Bono is a drug addict
    - Bono has a relation with someone else. He's no longer with Ali
    - Adam is alcoholic
    - Edge's riffs are written by other persons who do the work for him


    Completely stupid

    well, i heard those idiot things too, those are just people who want attention. I also read that the band used another guitar player under the stage, during the ZooTV Tour. What idiot!

    Bad and Running To Stand Still were about lives at home in Dublin ruined by subtance abuse (specifically heroin). Given that one of his best mates' (Hutch) death was somewhat drug-related, I don't understand how he could possibly have had drug problems. Although you can notice during the bridge of LAst night on Earth on the POPMART Mexico show he asks "Mexico City, how did you get so high?"

    Bono is not a junkie, idk about marriage, Adam has def had alcohol problems and Edge writes all of his own riffs.

    They def didnt use an addtl guitarist, but a good portion of the show came from a backing tape in order to stay in synch with the visuals. Even today, some things (backing tape to Bad, organ intro to Streets) come from the soundboard. But U2 tries to make as many of their live sounds as possible.

    U2 are not perfect. But the rumours that were listed do not hold up.

    Has anyone in the U2 camp 'strayed' in thier marriage? I don't know. But it is also none of our fucking business. Being that Larry has been with Ann for 25+ years. Bono has been with Ali for 25+ years, Edge with Morliegh since 1992-1993 and even Adam and Susie were together for over 10 years.

    Does this mean that all the relationships have been perfect or without incident? Maybe, maybe not. But it is really no one's business but thier own. Being that 3 of the four are still together with said female partners... that speaks more than the rumours.

  12. Let's see, Adam is alcoholic, or at least he was. Only read it in U2byU2, in the "Zoo TV days". Do you know who wrote this book? U2!!

    And Bono has had problems with the drugs in POPMart, not something specific, but he has recognized it in an interview at Rolling Stone magazine:
    - [Interviewer] Were you involved in the common-rock-stars problem, as sex, drugs and money?
    - [Bono] Let's say I took a bit of the pizza.

    (The traduction is mine, the original says "Digamos que probé la pizza", I didn't know how to say it on English!)

    So, with Adam (maybe Ex)alcoholic and Bono exDrogadict, are you going to leave loving U2?
