    Speaking of Please.

I recently read a "what they said" thing at the bottom of this site about how Edge did a lot of ecstasy during their "summer of love" (1994) and went to a lot of clubs and stuff. The quote said that one night Edge was on drugs and was tripping out and was just stuck on the carpet because he loved how it felt, and the chorus of Please came from Bono saying "please get up off your knees, Edge"

Who the hell knows if that one is true.
  4. "I would go to the studio by day and club by night. I did a lot of ecstasy. A lot. The chorus for Please was written after Bono kept pleading with me to get off the carpet. I spent like an hour one night just dragging myself around the floor on my knees. In my defense, that carpet felt wonderful. Really great shag. We should get that rug back." - The Edge on Pop

There it is. I wonder how much merit that quote holds

So, what do you want to see in the setlist or what do you think will happen when the tour progresses? Which songs would fit the themes of the night?

If you guys think this thread is useless just lock it.

5 Chicago shows ahead... Let's see if they come remotely close to this much variation:

  8. Won't even be close to the Vertigo tour , rotation wise judging from LA and Mobtreal.
  9. Is the greater variation on the Vertigo tour - at least near the beginning and in the encores - due to that tour not having a central theme or narrative to it, like I & E does? I suppose the "faith over fear" and "coexisting" themes were present throughout its run, but there wasn't necessarily a story being told that demanded a more uniform setlist night to night like I & E.

  11. No chance. Different songs before EBW most nights. Bad, Troubles, All I want some nights. Found / One / "40". That's it.
