2015-06-24 - Chicago
Tour: Innocence and Experience tour
Songs played: 25
Audio recordings: 5
Videos: 1
  1. could acrobat ever live up to our expectations
  2. Doesn't fit the theme at all - Vertigo is a song about them playing in front of people, very much ties in to the "roots" segment of those first three songs.

I think the structure is actually pretty brilliant...Opening song about their biggest inspirations, second song is that inspiration realized in a very early song, and the third song is them taking that all the way to the limit and really delivering with "Vertigo"...then it uses IWF, another early hit that really rocks live, to segue to the themes about Bono's mother and teenage years.

This is the hard thing about this tour, the concept, certain songs don't fit the setlist or fits only around 14/15 or encore...
  4. but what song ....tempo,mood,be the same or go different direction
all because of you had great energy
  5. Magnificent would be nice... old Miracle Drug, The Troubles, Ultraviolet...

From a statistics standpoint, sure. There aren't as many rotating slots.

But trust me... you wouldn't want to sacrifice the narrative of this performance for a few more rotating slots. Before I saw the show live, in person, I would have called the narrative the greatest weakness of this tour. After seeing it live, I can confirm it is what I consider the biggest strength.

  7. I love Edge's improvisations on guitar but I'm not sure I liked the whole performance. They need to get it totally right, specially the tempo. I'm wondering if they didn't have IEM cues for this one, they seem a bit lost.
  8. It was a very flat moment of the show, unfortunately. I am not a big fan of the song as it is, and seeing it live did not help the fact
  9. all great songs but i think magnificent is closer in dynamic range
