It doesn't sound to be the same mix, so my initial thought was to think "Well, why is it banned?". But I do think about it now - and the reason being they're covering their arses with any version of the song. Kind of a good idea when you think about it.

Because Principle, Island, the RIAA, IFPI and any other recording companies as well as others, are watching all the fansites with the eyes of a hawk. And I'd daresay that u2torrents (because of the sheer amount of videos, and audio recordings there) would be one of the most-watched.

And if I remember correctly, we had a conversation about soundboards not being allowed a little while back.

And then you've got Dimeadozen, all the torrent sites (Prince recently went against those) etc.....dangerous world on the internet.

You summed it up pretty well. Soundboards are still allowed, though.

Oh yeah, I saw that. Nothing wrong with soundboards - they're mostly good. Apart from Adelaide 1993-11-16 (which was full of air so it sounded strange) I'd like most of them - and believe me, the tapers do a whole lot better than I did (I recorded Adelaide 2006 and I'm embarrassed to upload it).

  8. No spamming my thread you bastards

I shall join the debate though . My greatest inconvenience with u2torrents that I don't understand is the banning of audience shot material of shows that are commercially released. I saw the Milan 2 cam mix and I point blank refused to buy the official DVD. Bullshit. How would a shaky audience shot put you off buying the full bells and whistles 5.1 magic of an official release.

What a waste 18 Singles was with that so-called 'bonus' disc.

I like shaky audience shots, it gives you the full show effect. If it's perfectly stable then it looks overproduced.

Sorry for spamming your thread. Forgive me.

You're right. But you forget that Principle, the RIAA and such might have a different view on this.
Kev and Frank just protect their site with this policy. Believe me, they don't ban this stuff for fun.

If the full Milan show was released I'd grab it - forget the audience mix. But for fullness and non-editing you'd want the bootleg.
