I'm not sure what the original bit-rate was, all I know is that it was AAC (iPhone). My capture @48000Hz was intentionally to bypass any compression problems (e.g. Windows vs Apple). I did not resample this capture other than to mp3 to share it here (but mp3's are also @48kHz). The main reason for doing this (mp3 instead of flac) is to avoid any possible confusion in the traders pool.

Looks like you could capture the full stream without any transcoding. That would improve the quality at least by removing one step of encoding.
