1. Fair enough. I guess we just have differing philosophies on audio. I try to organize and get the best possible recordings, and then mix/master to the best possible sound. Which usually takes A LOT of time. I may not be a five star chef, but doesn't stop me from trying!

    One quibble though--I'd argue against your use of the word mixing. It's not mixing unless you're mixing together multiple sources. Minor semantics

    Agreed. The designation "remaster for iPod" for my work is adequate both semantically and technically
