1. I've noticed how there is now more of a crunchy rhythm part in the background, which is clearly played by The Edge, thus meaning the solo is now pre recorded

  2. Wow Edge was really flat singing during the harmony.

Hands down their Jimmy Fallon performance is still the best live one. No gimmicky screen to obfuscate the band.

  3. Not weird how the American leg is nearly over already??

    and @ahn1991:

check out the video above. Edge is just doing the chords while the solo plays in the background - it's more than obvious.
  5. I guess that only matters if you're pre-post-modern or post-post-modern, don't you think?

yeah they do that all the time, check Lucifer's Hands and several more. I deal with it thinking that it's their songs anyway, they are the artists that created them, also, they're actually playing in the stage, is not like they're just standing there watching (except Bono in One), but it's impossible for the songs to sound like they do with just the 4 of them (3 considering Bono's left hand) and that as far as we know they are indeed playing the instruments, just at a different time.

So, yeah, basically I don't really care about that.

(I have a friend that watches porn and he says that girls are faking a lot of what they're doing and that some of them even have had breast implants... but that he still manages to overcome that and he enjoys it anyway. )

  6. I didn't get the pre-pre-post-post-modern thing, but I will tell you that their songs played themselves fucking good without all the backing tracks shit up to 1990. Check this out, it's one of my favourites pieces of live music ever (you can ignore Bullet and Slow Dancing, my point is the Desier / Watchtower combo, but it's split between two videos sadly):

No prerecorded stuff, just four guys playing their instruments at the top of their game. Which is what LIVE MUSIC is all about.
  7. Of course I'm all for having the little backing track here and there, the synth for Bad, or the organ for Love Is Blindness and Streets, etc. But a pre-recorded GUITAR SOLO!?!?! For God's sake. I wish I never had come across that comment and had watched that video. It's the biggest bummer I've had with this band, with my favourite band, in a long time.
  8. try not to be too disappointed about it, sergio. edge can only play so many guitars at the same time maybe bono was meant to play guitar for invisible as well and as we all know that's not gonna happen any time soon.. maybe edge switches from night to night. plays the solo on night 1, then the backing chords on night 2 (since ahn swears he heard edge butcher the solo). music is not as simple as it used to be anymore, they always add more than they need to, layer guitars etc etc. it's not such a bad thing, imo.

I'm sorry...... :'( I've let you down Sergio haha
  10. But I just don't understand why they don't have the chords as the backing track while he plays the solo??
  11. It's seriously beyond me. What a disappointment. And if they have a pre-recorded solo I can imagine how many parts are already being faked into the live shows regullarly...
