It's a short and easy solo to play so why not just do it. He has Dallas to switch the effects so it's not like that's the problem. Then again I am bitching about a short and easy solo.... hahaha I guess my biggest thing is why?
oh, then yes, I agree with you.

    It's just that...

Either you're talking about pre 1984, or what you're talking about is barely different to what they do now, based on a 10 second mild solo which actually competes in protagonism with the chords being played at that moment in the song.
  2. Different things, but I remember someone saw in the Chicago DVD that The Edge was playing something else during The Fly than what was shown and all hell broke loose. People wanted to crucify him. Then one fan that is also a guitarist explained that it looked like that because of some crazy effects that he does (sorry, I don't remember the details). Could it be the case here? No? Okay!

Yeah I know what you're talking about. It's when he had his fist in the air. He had his infinite delay on.

What about the intro to SFS (which is arguably the most recognisable -and long- part of the song)? As I said, it's not about THE Invisible solo. It's about the concept of pre-recording a solo (any solo, whether it's 15 seconds or 3 minutes long) and pressing ► on a computer instead of PLAYING it live to the crowd. And I'm repeating myself already so I will leave it here. I'm disappointed to see that, that's all.
