1. Cool! So, The Gimp worked great to cut'n'paste the stickers into the album. So now I just need to go find the other packs
  2. This is such a cool idea! I'm off to hunt down some U2 stickers...
  3. Wow amazing!
  4. Will these be harder to get than Star Wars TOPPS trading cards from 1977-1978?

    *has those cards
  5. yeah !! that's awsome !
    great idea !!

So... hopefully you'll enjoy it, and happy hunting!

You've actually made my real-life eyes gone wet BR-man...

This is so beautiful... Everything.. I mean the whole game... the buzz... WOUW...!!!!

(And I do have some ideas on how to take this album into the real world... ...I'll keep you posted!)
  7. Thanks everybody, I really apreciate that you're enjoying it!

*If you find some mistakes -specially but not limited- about the redaction please let me know, I can modify that.

    About the album resolution:

The stickers are uploaded at 100% size/resolution, while the album (the hi-res one) is uploaded only at 50% size/resolution, so probably you're needing to resize the cards/album to make them fit in case you're actually puting them together.
Because of this, I'm planning to upload the 100% size/resolution album as well, so probably later today I'll do this.

About how to get the stickers:

What I want to create with the sticker packs (or what I would love to see if I was collecting them instead of releasing them), is that feeling that you have to "find" your missing cards, getting excited when you open the pack, the "ugh" feeling when you find repeated ones, and the great feeling when you find one of the hard to get ones.

So, I don't want to just say straight forward "here, have some new stickers!"
That's why I thought about "hiding" them randomly in some posts throughout the forum.

Now, that's what I would like, but I believe that the sticker pack releasing method belongs to the community, not to me. I already had my fun doing the album, that's my "thing". I won't get too much extra pleasure in how it's delivered, so please feel free to suggest, insist, or lead on how the card packs should be released.

If you want something more straightforward, or easier to get, or whatever, please discuss it in here.

César already suggested the games Palaeo posted some days ago:
    *Play one of those games
*Capture and post the screen saying that you win the game
    *Get 1 pack
*Win the game with perfect score = you win 2 packs.

I would take that further and suggest that when you win a pack, you also get to "hide" it in one of your posts and then post clues about where to find it.

So that's one idea that I'll try to implement (or if anyone else is willing to help, please do so), in the next few days.

    ---

*If someone comes up with a game, or whatever, you'll get the packs yourself so you can "deliver" them to those that "win" your game.

*I would encourage that you replicate the packs you get and hid them on your own posts so that there's several "copies" of the packs scattered around.

*The packs that I hid were "numbered" (there's a number written above the pack picture), this helps to keep control on which packs you've already downloaded, since I'd think that there'll be several copies of each pack.

*Obviously you don't "need" all the packs in order to complete the album, since only a few stickers are only "printed" once while some others are "printed" up to 7 times.

*The Adam's t-shirts cards I made originally don't count for this album. Only the stickers included in the packs count. (In the album, Adam's t-shirts are the "special" stickers -you know, the ones that would be like holograms or whatever in real life-)

In order to lead people into the hidden sticker packs:

*Clues: Like in the first post, I can give you some clues on which thread and/or where in the thread you'll find a sticker pack.
*Spoilers: I could hide the sticker pack in a spoiler tag in a new post.
*Links: I could hide the thread where the pack is hidden in a link in what otherwise would look like a regular post.

    Sorry, I write too much.
I'm a bit nerdish if you hadn't noticed it.

  8. Ha! You think you write too much? Have read my reviews of Boston 1 & 3

No worries, man, we're ALL a bit nerdish about U2 around here
  9. It's not 100% ready yet, but I'm hoping to, like James would say, "getting away with it all messed up"... I mean, just yesterday we were still enjoying Until The End Of The World in Boston's 4th show, and New York hasn't even started yet. But in the meantime you can download the cover and the first 12 pages: one for each city they have played so far, and two for those cities with 4 or more shows. Oh, and one for the Roxy.

I'm stuck on a moment with finding the last pack. Just tell me: in the paragraph above I counted 3 references to threads where the packs may be. Is that correct?
  10. Definitely amazing! Great work!
  11. It's things like this that make me so happy to be a part of the u2start community
  12. Can't believe I actually went through that sports forum of you guys...
(And from the paragraph Cesar pointed out, I only could find two...)
