2015-07-31 - New York
Tour: Innocence and Experience tour
Songs played: 27
Audio recordings: 1
  1. Ah, Tim is playing Mother's of the Disappeared

  2. At least there are the weekends. (Don't go to a weekend show unless you want Elevation + Stuck)
  3. Bono can now add Lafayette Louisana during Pride.

RIP to those who lost their lives.
  4. That was great! Awesome show. All I Want Is You was indeed very good, that man Paolo on guitar did such a great job. What a performance. Awesome that he could keep the guitar.

For some reason I was surrounded with drunk people, stoned people (wtf people, smoking weed DURING the show?) and loads of bullshit fans who really love to videorecord every fucking song on their mobile phone whilst using the digital zoom. Yeah, that works out well. And then reply annoyed when someone asks you politely to stop video taping so they can also have a peek at the band (which happened close to me)

It took a couple of songs to be able to ignore these folks but then it turned out to be a great show. Setlist-wise nothing to complain and U2 put on a solid performance. It's great that you are able to get so close to the band without having to queue, that's great about this tour. The screen is also nice. Although at this point in time I still prefer 360 over this tour though, but that might change in the Europe leg. 1 down, 14 to go!

Shot some nice pics with the iPhone, didn't take the real camera in today:

And since, I've become convinced that Dylan's only purpose is to write songs that bad cover-bands should play live in the middle of their own stuff

I totally forgot this was your show! Good thing I wasn't here to bring Stuck to New York (I type as I'm listening to Stuck). It sucks that you were surrounded by people who were drunk/high, but hopefully it didn't impair the experience too much. You got some really nice shots from your phone. I was too embarrassed of my blurry phone pictures to post any from my GA experience.

Thanks Alex! Yes, no ATYCLB-vibes at the show today which was great

Yeah it sucks of the people but after a few songs I totally ignored them and just enjoyed the show without bothering to look at or listen at other people. It's a pity so many die-hard fans are craving for GA's and then these people show up. Also, what's the point of screaming 'love you Bono' with the loudest voice ever like every 30 seconds for the full show?

Ah well. I had a great show, and can't wait for Europe

PS: The trick with your phone in these shows is to change the lightning, to tap on the dark spots in the frame so the lightning goes away from the band members face. It's really difficult otherwise to great good shots due to the over-exposure to lights in the show.

The best GA friends I've made between my two experience have had two things in common. They'd be willing to talk with you for hours waiting in line/standing on the floor before the concert, but when the band takes the stage they shut up and dance.

And I had no idea about changing the lighting by tapping the dark spots on phone cameras. When I brought my Nikon in, I did some tinkering with the settings to get my shot there. Looks like I'll have something to try out the next time I do GA.

    ^THIS!!!!!!!^

This was my very first U2 concert, possibly first concert ever in my life! I was singing, dancing, jumping, clapping, even crying at points. And all who I could see around me was either drunk / high people, looking at their phones or just standing still!! Even during Streets! Friggin' WHERE THE STREETS HAVE NO NAME. Heck, there was even this drunk guy that came around and my friend and I noticed him right away! Thank goodness he didn't start up too much trouble or even came to us. What bothered me more was just the lack of sensitivity from this crowd. You're in one of the most legendary venues in the world with one of the biggest bands in the world. Why waste so much of your time taking pic after pic after pic, just stand there and not enjoy the moment. I'm sure there's MILLIONS of fans who wanted to be at this show but couldn't and they would KILL to be in your position!

I'm sorry. Maybe it's the concert newbie in me, but those factors REALLY BUGGED ME AND GOT UNDER MY SKIN!

    BUT WITH THAT SAID....

I STILL LOVED EVERY SINGLE SECOND OF TONIGHT!!!!

I CANNOT EVEN BEGIN TO DESCRIBE THE FEELING, SEEING BONO ARRIVE ON THE E STAGE, SEEING HIM FOR MY OWN EYES, WAS SIMPLY EMOTIONAL FOR ME. AS WELL AS THE REST OF THE BAND. EVEN THOUGH I NEVER GOT ON STAGE WITH THEM, THE SHEER INTIMACY OF THIS TOUR MAKES IT SO MUCH SO THAT NO MATTER WHAT, YOU'LL SEE THEM. THEY'RE RIGHT THERE WITH YOU. LUCEIFERS HANDS WAS PLAYED, AS WELL AS SWEETEST THING. MY FRIEND ESPECALLY GUSHED AT THAT. BUT WHEN STREETS CAME ON....I DIDN'T CARE ABOUT THE DRUNK PEOPLE, THE STATIC PEOPLE OR EVEN IF I MADE AN IDIOT OF MYSELF. I CRIED, I SANG, I CLAPPED AND DID TRY TO DANCE. IT WOULD'VE BEEN BETTER IF EVERYONE JUMPED UP AND DOWN, DANCED, ETC AS OPPOSED TO STANDING STILL! BUT IT DIDN'T MATTER TO ME. I WAS IN HEAVEN WHEN EDGE MADE THOSE OPENING NOTES.

OVERALL, 4.9 / 5 FOR THIS SHOW. THE CROWD (NOT ALL OF THEM) KINDA MADE IT A LESS THAN IDEAL EXPERIENCE BUT THE BAND'S MUSIC PULLED THOUGH!

THANK YOU REMY AND EVERYONE OF U2START. THIS IS A NIGHT I WILL NEVER, EVER FORGET!

P.S.-MY KEYBOARD GOT HAYWIRE, HENCE WHY THE LETTERS ARE CAPATALIZED.

    P.S.S.-IS THE BOOTLEG OUT YET?

    P.S.S.S.-My ears are still ringing.
  10. Was a good show sad ishfwilf for closer
