  1. And that Chicago 5 crowd was something else.. Never seen anything like it.
  2. difference between good old fans at a show and casuals is this joke

whats the difference with a king hit and a 69ner
at least you can see the c!@# coming

The other night in ga, about ten people back from the front, I was surrounded by middle aged people mostly. I counted, in the miracle, the six people directly in front of me videoing with their phones and looking through the screens the whole song. It's annoying to just have to try and see the band through the field of phones, let alone having to see them there on Facebook halfway through iris!
Yup. I know how ya feel.

At least with Zoo TV there a) weren't smartphones and b) the numbnuts in the crowd were at least kept at bay staring at the screens.

But just think... Would you rather have them screaming the songs like drunken morons, or just shutting up and showing their friends how "cool" they are quietly?

It's a lose-lose for us fans, but I'll take option b since there is no c!
  4. scary really
    i want to be
ready for every song that gets
    played and lap it up
    not take pics or vids

I guess in a way it shows the band they are still relevant that so many gather just because it's the "in" thing to do. and pay to be seen!
  6. goodnight im going to sleep
    not feeling so well
    see you at the
    setlist party
    in my morning

I hear you...at Chicago 3 I went nuts when they first started playing Gloria, while most people around me were clearly impressed by the energy of the song but seemed kind of confused at what the hell song they were playing!

Anyway, that's to be expected, I guess - when you're a big enough band that you can sell out shows 4-6 nights in a row in arena venues, you're going to have plenty of people that aren't diehard enough to know their whole back catalogue, especially now that they've been making music for almost 40 years!
  8. Don't get me wrong, the shows have all been great. Some (Chicago 5 and NY 1) were greater than others, to me. I've enjoyed every one, although last night it got a bit much with elevation and ordinary love again. Can't wait to do it all again next year in Australia (and Japan if they ever get back). Can't wait for tonight.

I can remember when tickets for the Joshua Tree tour went on sale (back when you had to show up and cue up in line for tickets) We could tell just by walking down the line who was going to hear With Or Without You and who was there to hear Surrender! (see, I was even a pretentious, judgmental fan even then! lol)

Here's the way I look at it. You got to travel to see multiple shows. I envy you... Those days and that luxury are gone for me... I was looking forward to surpassing my 50th show on this tour... (If they) do return and play regional to me, I'll fall just shy!

Good, bad or indifferent... You were still there!

America has been amazing. Seen some great places, met some great people, had great times. And to be lucky enough to see u2 so many times has been icing on the cake. I can't imagine I'll ever have a better trip anywhere in the world. And I got to see some amazing shows. I'll remember it forever
