    The rumour mill would suggest that 2016 is going to be the same setup, just with the new album. Stadiums are said to be coming in 2017. None of that is to be trusted of course, but meh, I'm just happy they're in it for the long haul.

    Slane Castle is a bit of an exception for me since those were the only shows done outdoors during Elevation. But yeah, the general concept was take what you've got and make it bigger. This especially held true with the outdoor Vertigo stage.

    Of course, the band has to know that if they go back to stadiums now, they'll be put up against 360.

    In December 1997 the Oils played three nights at New York's Mercury Theatre. Each night was captured by the same taper in the audience, and I have to say these are some of the besT, clearest audience recordings I have ever heard.

    They are also fantastic shows. I don't know the venue, but it sounds pretty small and intimate, with both band and audience

    having a great time.

    A lot of the songs that would later become "Redneck Wonderland" are played over the three nights. Most of them had new names

    by the time they were recorded, and some also changed quite a bit.

    I have some CD covers that I made years ago on here as well. The three shows are spread across four discs - refer to the CD

    covers to see where to split things.

    There is a fair bit of variation in the setlists from night to night. Highlights include "You May Not Be Released", an

    outtake/leftover from the Diesel and Dust album later used as a B-side for Blue Sky Mining. Each night closes with "Know Your

    Product" by the legendary Aussie punk band The Saints. And on night two we even get a brief snippet of Led Zeppelin's "Dazed

    And Confused"!"

  12. Is not the forum (other forums are even more cynical), and much less the fandom, the majority of people is overall very very happy with the shows as they are now. It's only a few people that insist a lot on that point.
    Obviously they have the right to wish for a more setlist variation even if the rest of the people (or the band) doesn't care about it and that's fine.

    The shows were great regardless of setlist variation or lack of it. The band, the material, the show, the music, all of it is great.
    And we know what we'll get. The people that wants to enjoy it as is, are enjoying it perfectly. But some fans wants to enjoy only if the shows are like they wish they were, and that's their right.
