  1. Hi all. I am going to be traveling to New York City very soon and was thinking of putting together a great U2 playlist of tunes. Any thoughts on tracks/versions I should include? Specifically songs that would enhance the New York atmosphere.

    I'll be leading off with City of Blinding Lights and probably have "New York" in there somewhere

    3 - Seconds (in an aparment on Times Square...)
    4 - Bullet The Blue Sky (urban violence song)
    5 - Daddy's Gonna Pay For Your Crashed Car (money's irony song)
    6 - In God's Country (NY is the centre of God's Country - the USA)
    7 - Discotèque (NYs nights are the Real disco)
    8 - Heartland (dunno why, I thought this would fit on the playlist...)
    9 - Where The Streets Have No Name (many people still think that Where The Streets... refers to New Yrok . therefore here is it)
    10 - Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me (frenetic dancing song for the nights)
    11 - Fast Cars (this title always reminds me to NY)
    12 - God Part II (all the excesses of the ultra-city are written on this song)
    13 - New York (of course )

    I think I'll add Zoo Station as well. I'll mess around with the order after the songs stop coming.

    OK, I agree and thanks for accepting my playlist. But in my opinion, New York has to close it, has to be the last song. Just a tip

  9. Definitely New York will be the closer. I think I am going to use the version on the Live from Boston DVD. I like it's live intensity. Haven't completely decided yet though

    Oooooh i didnt know you wanted live versions. In that case, yes, Boston is the best
