Reports: Police have arrested an armed male impersonating police officer. #u2stockholm

Not sure how reliable it was
  2. If you think about smaller venues of around 1,500 to 4,000, they usually have security measure. Like the barriers you walk through that can randomly search you. I know that's the case in some Scottish venues like Barrowlands and Edinburgh Corn Exchange. Whereas in the Hydro, anyone could just walk in with a gun - there's no security.
  3. Meanwhile, in other news, first two bootlegs of Stockholm have surfaced. Will share soon.

They didn't change their NA dates after the towers went down in 9/11, so I don't think much will change from the band's side. Venue security will definitely be beefed up though. Depending on how things are, I wouldn't try to sneak cameras/recording equipment in at this point.
  5. I would certainly welcome the implementation of stricter security measures, anything that would make me feel safer is a good thing.

Can't remember exactly what it's like at the O2, but I'm pretty sure they search everyones bags.

I agree. If the best we get are cell phone recordings from now on I'd be able to live with it if it means the venue is more secure.

It's INSANE that someone actually takes a gun to a concert, but it isn't strange that it is possible. At all the concerts I've ever been, the only thing they did was checking your tickets. And even if they would do body searches, it still would be possible to take in a little gun if you really want...

Despite higher security checks, if someone really wants to do something bad, he will always find a way to do it...
  9. No its not when a person has it in for a bloke and whatever else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Could happen anywhere in the world regardless of security, unless they go full on x-ray / airport / Chinese tourist attraction style. As it is, it's just a deterrent for people who aren't overly serious. If you really wanna do some damage, you'll find a way around concert security

You are right - personally my civil rights are more important to me than "stricter" security searches (strip-searching, body scanner, etc.) in general and besides that I am seriously more concerned about the Divided States of America's state terrorism in the world today.

Metall wands for e.g. will ensure only an apparent security, as it would be relatively easy to take a gun, etc. into a venue days before an event and then pick it up from your hide the right day - or some weapons made of carbon fibre you will not even find with them.

Ok, one mental disturbed person ruins the day for 16.000 people, but he could have made a certain phone-call and the show would have been cancelled either, despite any proposed security measures.

But if you are seriously concerned about your safety, then stay at home, because there are otherwise chances you might die in an road accident out in the wild instead of your own bed.

Meeting fans at the hotels wont happen anymore, or they will have more security/bullet proof clothing
