  4. yeah...it used to be said that simple minds and u2 sounded the same.......i seen them both at croke park and both amazing! what was that disc set called.....
  5. I came here looking for this.
I had a copy of this on cassette many years ago, but can no longer find it.
It was at the end of a U2 bootleg show.

If anyone has a copy and is willing to share, it would be greatly appreciated.

In all honesty I can't remember which show it was added to. I just remember being really impressed with the performance.
  6. Use the Search function, guys This same performance youre looking for was uploaded and posted in the forums a few months ago! I would do it but Im logged from my mobile phone if you dont find it ill post the links tomorrow
  7. I was at the gig you are looking for.

Glasgow Barrowlands in January 1985, one of 3 (I think) Simple Minds New Year homecoming gigs then.

Crowd went crazy when Bono came on for New Gold Dream... 85, 86, 87, 88 modified lyrics.

The Minds where massive then but of course U2 went on to the stratosphere and to outstrip all rivals & contemporaries.

At their own gigs in November 1984 at the same Barrowlands venue, Jim Kerr & Charlie Burchill were in the audience at the back but did not come on stage if I remember correctly.
