Possibly an overdose...money doesn't make you happy all the time..

lol...it does look weird from the trailers...how was Bono?

ow, and the last movie I watched...if you call it a movie, was this Christmas special Shrek thing, 30 minutes...not so good. The only funny bit was the opening sequence, the rest I didn't like that much.
  6. Just saw "Once" with Glen hansard from the excellent band "the frames"...great movie...great irish music...if you haven't checked out the frames..check them out....great U2-isms!!!!!!
  7. Last movie that I sat and watched?

I saw U2: 3D last night, at The Bridge, in Los Angeles. It is the most U2 fun you can have without having to sleep on the sidewalk the night before.

Sure there are the continuity editing bits but overall, the look and the sound are everything that every U2 VHS and DVD wished they could be.

They made great use of the 3D effects. At time Adam is hovering in front of you, then Bono is reaching out to you. Seconds later, you can see all the nicks on the headstock of The Edge's Explorer, as if he's pointing it toward you to see. And then a moment later, it's like you are Adam, stood next to Larry's drum kit looking down at him pounding away on his kit.

I loved that they gave Larry and Adam far more camera time than Hamish Hamilton ever has. (Hamish DOES know U2 is a four-piece, right?)

I like that they left in the technical error at the beginning of The Fly. I like that Bono was Bono and played it off. "Where's The Fly? Where is The Fly?". And as usual, when one of those moments comes and goes, it just brings all four that much more up on their game.

The only thing that would have made it better was if it was a full 2+ hour show. But that is me just asking for icing on an already great tasting cake.

Should you see it? Heck yes! And TRY to find a theatre that has it in IMAX. It sounds and feels like you are right there in the stadium. And at times, like you are ON the stage.

nice review mate. Just wondering about the bit i've hilighted. If watching the full 2 hour show would the novelty of the 3D effect not wear off slightly. The way it is now it seems to be just like one big jam and by the time you settle into the 3D it's over leaving you no chance to say anything other than WOW
  9. Pirates of Caribean: At World's End

Love this movie! The more I think about it, I think it is my favorite of '07. I downloaded the Frames version of 40 the day after watching it. Great version of the song!!
