1. I have been fortunate to see U2 on every tour all the way back to 1980 and the Boy tour......So I am really looking forward to hearing all the new songs I haven't seen them play live yet...from SOI

But I must comment that most of the versions of the old songs where they have been long in the past seem to be cut short this tour. I would personally have fewer songs but more different ones rather then Elevation cut short and WOWU without Shine like stars etc....Makes me feel like they are getting in to mode of just doing it for the money and maybe they are starting to think why learn 50 songs when you get the same money for learning 30 songs...
  2. Doing for the money? Why all U2 members have milions.
So I don't believe they are touring for the money. Long way from home, playing every 3/4 days etc. Most have kids.

You are comparing U2 nowadays with U2 in the eighties, thats not fair, that is 30 years ago. People are changing, getting older. You and I are also not the person when you were 15-20.

My point was they are promoting a new album and "Yes" the U2 machine is a very succesful business and they are doing it to make money and keep people employed. The band will probably net £20 million each from these two legs of the tour good for their retirement fund they also have lots of other investments Adma Clayton is reported to be worth £150 million and is the Fourth richest bass player in the world...Bono and the Edge probablt more.....Its a fact some of the older songs are being cut short on this tour. Just my opinion
  4. Too add to the setlist thing we are al U2 anoraks and wanna hear all the old great stuff they played before plus the ones they haven't like Acrobat. But it feels like they are catering on this tour for the non die hards who will just go to one show and thats it for them....
  5. If anyone meets the band in the next few days please remind then that ....

    Ordinary love
    Lucifer's hands
    The Crystal Ballroom
    California
    The troubles

... aren't just for the American fans we'd like to hear them too. We've heard Desire & AOH thanks very much

    I second that
  7. What about In God's Country??
  8. I have been thinking some more about the setlist and I think that they could realistically drop Beautiful Day, Blinding Lights, and Mother and Child Reunion into the main set and have something like this:

    19. Where The Streets Have No Name
    20. Pride (In The Name Of Love)
    Stephen Hawking
    21. City of Blinding Lights or Beautiful Day
    22. Mother and Child Reunion (snippet) / With Or Without You

In an ideal world, they'll just drop the awkward little snippet. For the encore I'd have something like:

    23. The Troubles
    24. Bad
    25. All I Want Is You

  9. The Troubles opening a set? Bad and All I Want is You in the same show? Pre-London hysteria is getting to Tim.

  10. I always thought that The Troubles would be a nice main set closer or a nice opening encore
