1. There's some low end to be found in this recording. I tried doing a little EQing and a bit of parallel compression on some of the low end on Elevation. Made it sound a lot better to my untrained ears. Now I hear Adam and it's less harsh sounding. Thanks again for the recording!
  2. Other tours have seen IEMs being released shortly after they were recorded, so the "let's save them so they don't know we're recording them" point is bullshit to me.
  3. Was curious to see what would happen if I mixed it with the audience recording. Apparently this. The cut is pretty rough. I only spent 5 minutes on it; synced them up and did some very minimal EQing to bring out a bit of bass. I actually think it makes it sound a little brighter, but I'm not sure it's worth the hissing and click track.

I did the same to PHTP and that particular track sounds great

Then get on it, keep sharing and keep improving.

"Don't let the bastards grind you down!"

I generally think this post is a very good one. Keep taping and honing your craft. I have tried to help many folks in improving the quality of their recordings, and will continue to do so. I am encouraging people to hold off on releasing IEM recordings until the end of the tour. There's no pressing need to get it out right now. People will still enjoy it if it's released a year from now.

Like I said, if it's coggster's (or any other tapers) so as long as they're not selling, I won't actively try to shame them for their upload. But I am encouraging wireless tapers (and fans of wireless recordings) to have a little patience, that's all. I do plan on releasing some stuff, but will wait until the tour is over.
  6. Damn Bullet sounds incredible on this IEM. It's a true In Ear Megaphone.
  7. i really dont understand the difference for security or U2 to accept or let introduce into places recorders with microphones rather than iem stuff... bootlegging is bootlegging, security tries to find material or not, iem receiver or md or DAT or whatever... wrong subject for me...
  8. gonna dl this after work, thank you so much for sharing!

please refrain from trying to make a point when you know nothing about what you're writing about please.

what people don't get is that if u2 decides for whatever reason to switch to encrypted iem's everyone will be screwed, so the less attention there is to this kind of recordings the better it is. is it so hard to wait until the end of the tour for some goodies to come out (yes i wrote 'some' because obviously not everything will be shared for the time being, as always) ?
  10. If the band wanted or felt need to use encrypted feeds then surely they would have did so a long time ago.

Or are you suggesting the band don't encrypt so that IEM tapers can still have their fun? I would find that hard to believe.
  11. did you take a look at statistics of iem recordings being released ?
last tour more than 35% of shows had some sort of iem recording in circulation (either in the form of a matrix or as single feed) while for the previous tours it was less than that (except maybe elevaton tour), and i know i was responsible for a percentage of this.

if there were statistic on when these were unleashed to the public you would find that a vast majority of them were from 2009, so that means that the public's awareness of iem recordings began mostly in 2009 (some iem's were previously taken as soundboards ...), and thus the band's awareness of people taping their feeds probably started at the same time, and while previously the technology to encrypt wasn't available it now is so the option of switching their gear is far more possible than it ever was,
  12. millions of albums sold
    the biggest money grossing tours
and less than 1.000 fanboys like us who are into bootlegs
yeah, as if they would care! lol.
bands like U2 and Springsteen know what is out there bootleg wise
the highest ranking executives at Sony listen to the Springsteen MSG 2009 IEM/AUD matrixes produced by hoserama and everybody in Bruce's camp knows my videos
the only thing the high quality audio and video recordings let to was being made aware of the fact that there is a demand, even if little (the "general audience" maybe buys one official live recording and that's it!) and Bruce Springsteen said himself "I saw some audience produced material and I thought to myself "hey, we have the masters, we can do better than this!" (they haven't done so yet, but maybe some day...). I am sure that was part of the reason why they started the archive releases and the downloads from all 2014 shows.
Encrypting their IEMs for us few people: In your dreams.
