Ho Ho. Hoserama your efforts are always very appreciated at least by me, but you are talking Mandarin to panhandlers and they won't listen to you of course- it's just like taking to a wailing wall isn't it?. Beggar boy Usual leecher won't understand that almost every band hate taping / releasing their IEM's (though personally experienced one exception this summer when taping outside a venue) and at least the crew of Bruce took measures albeit from others (DMB for e.g).
Remembering Bruce Milan 2011 as they clearly adressed (though not in person but in general) us before the soundcheck followed by a complete mess for hours, but anyway we ended despite this obstacles with multi-IEM from the show. (proposed share date of all our recordings will be the devil's ascencion day- promised!)
Beggar boy Leecher might also wonder why are no ALD's are available anymore: quite simple major bands do not give permission any longer for ALD transmissions in the venues for some non-obvious reason maybe?

But as some people pointed out that U2 have an open tape policy so then I suggest in avoiding hassle with the venue's security you simply show U2's management / crew your rig (including mics / scanner / receiver whatever you want) before the show and ask them for permission to tape. Just curious what will happen then-and don't forget presenting us afterwards the details about the nice & polite conversion you surely had.

The interesting phenomenia ("beggar boy" - it's occuring for some reason only among the male population here) which means the constantly whining (begging) for (IEM) recordings seems to be limited only to U2 so maybe the reason should be subjected to a scientific investigation. At least for myself I consider this a very degrading behaviour but tastes may be different and opinions too. But don't take this as a personal insult of course, it is just an description of the facts, nothing more.
IEM's are the exception and not the general rule, that some of the unruly amongst you should always keep in mind and for some dates of the Euro tour your chances will be virtually towards zero I am afraid and feeling really sorry for that.

If people are happy with this recording I have no problems with that because I don't care about people's (lesser) quality standards as longs as our recordings are done the professional way.
The graph provided by Julien points out that a ICOM ICR 5 or 6 was used for recording referring to the depicted compression, but as we know people may have a limited budget and the result is making the community happy, so at least their vitally needs got fullfilled. Also getting some impression how formidable Adam's feed is of course, despite some nagging about the sound quality.

So why complain & critizise? - in the end it's as useless as the beggar boy's comments.

There you can insult and throw all the shit you want in other's faces, but not here, not in this thread, not in public.

Any further posts deviating from the London IEM (or general IEM) recording discussion will be shamelessly deleted.

    Have a nice day.
I think it would be a fair conversation to have (politely!) for the ethics of selling recordings. That said, I do agree it's gotten very off-topic from the original post. So perhaps an alternative thread in the bootleg forum?
  3. As long as it remains civil enough. Fire away and create something.
  4. coggster. I am with you totally. I got IEM's of 2 of the London shows but will never post them given the general dickishness of many people like JulienLossless here.

A shame too I love IEMs personally and appreciate the effort...can I send you a PM about this?
  6. +1
    I love the IEM's.
Such a shame that the few can ruin it for the many that really love the work and effort involved.

Glad to hear you had luck with you & and your band.

Begs the question from the other thread--still think that Chicago recording was a straight Bono IEM or was it Bono + AUD mixed?

The IEM could be London 4... oh well.

I guess he won't answer that one ... he probably deleted the files anyway since i'm being a dick it would appear; or he's just bluffing and didn't record anything

yet i still don't get who i was being a dick in this thread, just because i posted a screen capture trying to find out the source of that recording ? oh well ... who cares anyway.
  10. We were at this gig, downloaded this version, listened back to it last night and had a ball. Thanks a million!

Btw karlheinzu2, I was chatting to a chap Southside, Tuesday night who had been touring with Bruce Springsteen. That may have been you; if so, it was nice to meet you. If not, disregard entirely!
  11. Just saying: an IEM taper got pulled in a city with 4 show stop at first night, got taken his gear away and had to pop up for security to get checked he wouldn't snug IEM gear in again for the other shows.
So what again about "they don't care getting their feeds taped"? They DO care because private things can be recorded (I remember a soundcheck, where a phone call between Edge and Morleigh was recorded - and released, also remember encore breaks with band member talks - actually discussions and stuff on 360) - so yes, releasing IEM's will get their attention. Changing frequencies every night, changing the whole technology (switching to a different system which makes all bought receivers useless) or - encrypting.

Of course, many love IEMs, so do I, and your (coggster) efforts and generosity are highly appreciated, but I really hoped nobody would release anything before the end of this tour or leg.
Things already started changing after the Chicago silver release....and it got worse since. So I also wasn't able to pull something on my last show, sadly.
