2015-10-25 - London
Tour: Innocence and Experience tour
Songs played: 26
Audio recordings: 1
  1. London has been an unforgettable experience. I've met many great fans over the six nights - too many to mention here. Also had my run-ins with some unpleasant fans (mainly Americans, I'm afraid) but we won't dwell on that. There were highlights across all of the nights for me. From hearing songs such as All I Want Is You, Bad, Gloria, and Out of Control for the first time, to the Noel Gallagher and Patti Smith guest appearances. Every night there was something new for me to hear or see and I really wasn't expecting that. The only letdown I suppose was the atmosphere in the seats. It was great to finally see the screen in all its glory, but the energy was dead.

It was also a pleasure to fly the flag for U2start in London. I had plenty of fans walk up to me and say hi and tell me how much they appreciate the efforts of our crew and how much they enjoy being part of the community which is nice. All in all, it's been a great 10 days. I would happily rewind and do it all over again.

I'll answer the questions that we missed on last nights Periscope soon.
  2. What's the situation with these unpleasant fans? I love hearing about irritating fans.

  3. Crowd seemed pretty good on Adam's side. Yes, there was the twat who threw a beer at Bono and there was a woman who muscled her way onto the rail next to me, but I made sure she had an uncomfortable time. I thought we sounded pretty good overall. I don't know why you guys thought Bad was poorly received, it was fantastic.

Yes, there was (just). I really wasn't expecting much to be honest, so I was pleasantly surprised. Of course, I would've liked to hear more variation, particularly where COBL and Elevation are concerned, but I can't really complain. I visited two 360 shows and had the exact same setlist. I've been to seven shows on this tour and they've all been different.

I think you discover something new at every new spot you choose. If you stay in one place you limit yourself. The real eye-opener was night 5 in the seats. The visuals during Out of Control, Vertigo, Cedarwood Road, October, and Bullet in particular were spectacular.

Good question. Barcelona was great because it was my first show of the tour and the first time that I've been so close to the band. Would it crack my top 3 of this tour? London 3 is the outright winner here. I think I'd go for London 3, London 4, and Barcelona 3...maybe. It pains me to leave last night out though.

I'll get round to the rest after work
  4. If anyone did GA one night Edge side and One night Adam I would apreciate you thoughts on which is the best I did the Edge side in London considering Adam's for Dublin...thanks in advance

Adam is more interactive towards the audience than Edge, you'll have a better time on Adam's side I reckon (unless you're a guitar sucker like myself and can't avoid looking for Edge Edge Edge all the way)

+1, Adam is great to interact with. You can really connect with him, whereas you can't with Edge.
  7. Thanks guys Adam's side it is in Dublin probably a bit more room too a I think more will want to be on the Edge's side

  11. Well done Tim, great work. Unpleasant fans though, bad luck...I have never had a problem...U2 fans are unique for that, nicest folk in the world.

... and I concur with Adam Side being best (which I would not have guessed before although you will have to look at Edge's back for the piano October/EBW.
