  4. Terrible. They are getting worse. ASFOS was bad enough, I bought the deluxe version and wasted like 15 bucks in the process.

    i love Coldplay to bits, and i've defended everything they've done up to now, but whatever they had, they've lost it with this.

    everything about the new album just makes me cringe. the title, song names, artwork, and now this Ellie Goulding-lite tat.

    the frustrating thing is, we all know Chris can do so much better.
  7. The album, recorded in Malibu, LA and London, was produced by Norwegian duo Stargate together with the band’s long-time collaborator Rik Simpson. It features more guests than any previous Coldplay record, with Beyoncé, Noel Gallagher, Tove Lo and Merry Clayton among those appearing across its 11 tracks (12 if you count the buried treasure of the hidden track X Marks The Spot). - coldplay.com

    The lead single has *some* cringe worthy moments, maybe it'll sound better live (after all, for instance, Zoo Station and the Fly sound a hell of a lot better live).

    Remember now, aside from 'Every Teardrop', we got to hear MX tracks well before the album came out (which was pretty great - I'm a huge fan of when artists do this and tease fans this way). This didn't happen, but hey, I guess maybe they're feeling extremely confident about this new stuff.

    Tove Lo's style and vocals fits this record (based off this first song). Beyonce should be really interesting, considering she has a really, really great voice (if you don't like her music, that's a nice opinion, but at least have respect for her voice - this is, after all - a Coldplay song with her vocals co-existing here). I'm excited for Noel and Merry also being guests (we all know Noel here, and Merry sang on the Stones' Gimme Shelter).

    Should be interesting, and I'm staying optimistic. If you love rock music as much as I do, you probably should too.

    Coldplay, rock music?

    I wouldn't call them a rock group, not that it matters. This song sounds awful, it sucks they went a certain way after VLV, which I didn't really love but at least had some good songs and a recognizable sound.
    The last 2 albums were crap and this doesn't seem to be very good either.

  12. I might not even listen to the new album. I listened ONCE to the previous one (seriously, how was it called? I remember there was a song called O) and watched with the gorgeous iTunes visuals another time - that's all. Never went back. I might as well use that 45 minutes in listening to other music that catches my ear and heart instantly, instead of trying that a bunch of boring songs "click" with me in some way.
