It could be considered not very ethical to throw private conversations out in the wild, but maybe some of you would not mind if your private talk will be published around the world. Even some of you think it's quite enjoyable to post their superfluous thoughts on other fan-boards (e.g. Madonna).

So what again about "they don't care getting their feeds taped"? They DO care because private things can be recorded (I remember a soundcheck, where a phone call between Edge and Morleigh was recorded - and released, also remember encore breaks with band member talks - actually discussions and stuff on 360) - so yes, releasing IEM's will get their attention. Changing frequencies every night, changing the whole technology (switching to a different system which makes all bought receivers useless) or - encrypting.

Of course, many love IEMs, so do I, and your (coggster) efforts and generosity are highly appreciated, but I really hoped nobody would release anything before the end of this tour or leg.
Things already started changing after the Chicago silver release....and it got worse since. So I also wasn't able to pull something on my last show, sadly.

but that also happened to audience tapers. The first U2 iem already dates from 1997 starting with a 23 disc set of rehearsals. Just on a normal show there will not be much personal info so that should not be a problem, soundchecks with possible private information are generally recorded from outside the venue. So you should not combine those two points. Tickets say; no recorders allowed, so thats probably the main reason that person had to hand in his gear. Well, maybe its better to be save than sorry, but why not wait until their career is over? I don't see a big difference between sharing a 360 iem and a I&E iem, and I don't see a big difference between sharing now or after the tour. Of course you have to be careful with personal information (you can cut out the encore break for example) and new songs. But seeing all past uploads they don't seem to have a big problem with IEM taping. The whole scare thing is a bit laughable. Certainly when you realize that one of the organizers of the 'not share pact' released a matrix recording of a future official release during the past tour and goes to shows like a suicide bomber packed with gear. Of course it's always good to look at the bigger picture, but in general IEM tapers don't seem to care to much about the bigger picture at all. So please don't take what they say for granted unless they come up with really good arguments. I haven't seen one in this particular case. But maybe we better close u2start and u2torrents until their career is over, just to be on the save side

Discouraging others to share on a sharing website just feels a bit strange. And btw, selling an IEM is also very different from sharing one. U2 has always been very clear that they don't like people selling recordings.

Just wanted to say a very big thanks Coggster for taking the trouble to record this and then share it.

Have seen U2 31 times down the years (I know a drop in the ocean compared to some I meet) - normally I get to go to a few shows on each tour, but personal circumstances dictated that it was only to be one show this tour, London 29th.

And what a great show up with the very best of the best I've seen, I think I got lucky and picked the right night out of all six, though I've read really great reports of the other nights, as you'd expect. Final night seemed particularly good too.

Anyway, I love your recording and greatly appreciate you sharing. Have listened to it endlessly, a great souvenir of the one show I'll see this tour.

Thank you to all those that go to the effort of recording and sharing, be it audience microphone, IEM or otherwise.

Not trying to backseat mod, but we're getting off-topic (I'm just as guilty in participating in this case). If folks want to continue the conversation, although not I'm not sure what it would accomplish, maybe split off into another thread like the ethics of selling. Seems like the logical approach.
