    This for sure.

That first "dead inside" lyric drives me bananas, although the song improves as it progress. I've outgrown songs like "Psycho" - maybe I'd appreciate more if I had teenage angst or something (that passed well over two decades ago for me). "Mercy" is okay but maybe a bit sappy/overblown - a poor man's "Starlight" as someone said a while back.

Songs 4 and 5 are pretty solid - they rock pretty hard, especially "Reapers." However, by the time the second half comes around, I start to lose interest - although there is still some decent stuff there.

With above said, I'm looking forward to the show I have tickets for in January. Admittedly, my anticipation is directed towards the hope of hearing songs like "Bliss," "Stockholm Syndrome," and "Map of The Problematique" (among others).
  2. Who said anything about the album I was talking about the tour. Not pumped at all.
  3. I'm one of those guys who's happy to "deal with" the new stuff (yes, even with U2 and PJ) in order to get to hear the classics.

How many Muse shows have you attended, Sergio? It can't be that many can it? You mustn't be put off by the chance to a hear song like Citizen Erased this time around, no?

On a side note: Isn't it a bit odd that when I type in "U2" (just like I did now) in a U2 (just did it again) forum and it's underlined in red thus indicating a typo!

Drones is solid...I'd rank it at #4 behind Absolution, OoS, and BH&R.

Ha! I just posted this less than a month ago.

I guess the album doesn't have the "staying power" the others do.
  5. I must be one of the few who think that, of their last 3 albums, the 2nd Law is the best, this new album is just lazy. 12 songs, take away the two "speech" tracks becomes 10 tracks, take away the 'choir' song, becomes 9 songs, and there really is no stand out track. The Globalist, which was built up as a 10 minute epic before its release, is simply Soaked and Nimrod slapped together with a Stockholm Syndrome Live style outro riff inbetween. Even Psycho is a recycled riff from 2004. Not that i'm not looking forward to see them live in June, I just think the new material they are touring with is quite weak.
  6. Tonight is the start of the tour
  7. Drones, as a whole, is actually one of my favorite Muse albums. There are shows in San Diego and I'm wondering if I should get tickets...

You love ATYCLB and Drones??? We are rare...

Wouldn't say one of my favourite, but to me better than previous two albums. Still MK Ultra from Resistance is one of my most favourite songs by them even if Resistance album is probably my least favourite album

No, not that many, but all of them from different venues and years so I've seen a lot of special things... I've been really lucky with Muse actually!

-March 15, 2015 - Ulster Hall, Belfast (best one, hands down)
-June 16, 2010 - Estadio Vicente Calderón, Madrid (second best, first time seeing them)
-July 6, 2013 - Stadio Olimpico, Rome (great show -and we appear on the official DVD!- but we had seats far away, not nice for a Muse show)
-October 20, 2012 - Palacio de Deportes, Madrid (the less special one)

Seeing them in Belfast in the most intimate venue they've played in a decade -and with that setlist!!- probably plays a big role in not wanting to see them playing standard sets in big arenas anytime soon I can't help it. It's like trying a handcrafted stout beer and then having to go back to a cheap alcohol-free lager.

Of course, seeing Citizen Erased, Butterflies&Hurricanes, Showbiz, Muscle Museum or Sing For Absolution would be pretty special too, and I'd absolutely LOVE to live them someday. But the current tour will probably portrait very few of those classics I'm eager to see, and an unbearable % of newer songs from which I only really want to see Reapers, Psycho (both already seen in Belfast) and The Globalist... I can't justify the brutal cost of the GAs for seeing just one new song. I'll probably attend it anyway if I can get cheaper tickets outside the venue or something like that, but if it doesn't happen it won't be the end of the world.
  11. As an example, tonight's setlists in Mexico DF, second night of the tour:

    Drones - 7 songs
    Dead Inside
    Mercy
    Psycho
    Reapers
    Revolt
    The Globalist
    The Handler

    The Resistance - 4 songs
    Resistance
    Undisclosed Desires
    United States of Eurasia
    Uprising

Black Holes and Revelations 3 songs
    Knights of Cydonia
    Starlight
    Supermassive Black Hole

    The 2nd Law 3 songs
    Madness
    Prelude
    The 2nd Law: Isolated System

    Absolution 1 song
    Time Is Running Out

    Improvisations 1 song
    Munich Jam

    Origin of Symmetry 1 song
    Bliss

That's just crap, for God's sake. Last night it was a bit different, something like U2's rotational spots:

    Absolution - 4 songs
    Apocalypse Please
    Hysteria
    Interlude
    Time Is Running Out

    The Resistance . 2 songs
    Undisclosed Desires
    Uprising

Origin of Symmetry - 1 song
    Plug In Baby

Still wrong, wrong, wrong. Can't push myself to spend 120€ on 2 GAs to see this, even if they're my second favourite band.
