I did the same thing. It'll go locked away once it dies. I'll never get rid of it.

Mine was going to be locked away. But I took a knife to it to get it open, and sort of damaged the plastic front and scratched the clickwheel badly, as well as ripping the hard drive connector off and breaking that too. The blade bent out completely, and the case looks like it was run over by a semi-trailer, so now it looks less than second-hand. Oops. But I got all the albums included with it anyway, so that was alright. Eventually I just bought the entire set of albums (I don't bother with singles) as CDs and now I've got them like that and spent a whole night re-ripping and re-tagging them all.

I've no problems with buying the DVDs, albums, singles (if I see them) because like Molang, I've no issues with it...always top stuff. Only thing I copy and trade is the bootlegs because you obviously can't buy them, and rip the soundtrack out and re-master it a bit.

It's a shame what happened with your iPiece. Enjoying your classic? (we can continue in technology btw)

Will do. Pop into Technology if you want.
  7. I bought every U2 album since War plus most singles. I don't like to steal music from a band.

But there are some obscure b-sides and collaborations...

I really dont know what you exactly mean. Could you be more specific??

The U2 singles, for example. Or some Beatles albums. Or Mothership, from Led Zeppelin.

But I do NOT consider it illegal, only "amoral". I have one very near example: my grandfather IS an artist, with his own disc label, etc. and he downloads music from eMule

why don't you download the entire albums? best ofs are not good.

I meant the DVD with the videos (it's part of an album, isnt it?). Of course I have all Led Zeppelin albums bought officially (LZ·IV and Phisical Gaffiti in vinyl )...
  11. I was guilty of downloading 'War' illegally.

but I've since bought it officially, so s'alright.
  12. The only kind of music i DON'T have downloaded is U2 music.

I have all the albuns... missing a few singles, althought i did download Achtung because my old one died of old (use)age XD
