  1. Just thinking out loud, a couple of suggestions now that the tour is over, and the setlist party spirit is still alive, and there's an emptiness in the daily routine...

    a) instead of show of the month, make it the show of the week.
    This way, we all know ALL saturdays/whatever at the same time there's a live show, instead of "oh! it was yesterday? I thought it was next week!". Also, because it's more interesting.
    (I would've gone with "show of the day", but I didn't want to scare you)

    b) don't say which show will be broadcasted. Surprise us.
    I've always felt like saying "we'll listen Guadalajara War Tour show in 4 weeks" was rather anticlimatic... like, well, I can download it and listen to it now, why do I have to wait?
    And I believe that just tune in to listen to a surprise show would be way better... we won't know the set list, we won't know the snippets, -sure more than a couple will identify the show, but still it's a bit more surprising this way-... you don't even have to make it a "special" show, it doesn't have to be a top 10 show, just grab any show from any tour and let's have a setlist party...
  2. Sounds like a great idea to me, a few of us were talking about something like this on the last setlist party.

    I was thinking an 'on this day in history' show at first, but I much prefer your idea of it being a surprise show, much more fun. It would be cool if there was an easy way to stream a video of a gig too so we've got some visuals to chat about too, but maybe thats a bit of a reach.

    I'd try and tune in regularly anyhow, I'm relatively new to all this set list party stuff, and really enjoyed them on here these last few weeks.
  3. I seem to recall something like this, where you'd have to guess the show. But then Bono revealed the date in the first line of "Breathe," the first song of the concert . But yes, absolutely, I would love something like this again!

  8. I can tell you we're heavily discussing similar ideas and we'll share more info soon. Expect a new setlist party soon. Thanks for throwing in suggestions and keep them coming.

  10. Well, in that case, made-up-frankenstein shows should be in the discussion as well... this week we'll have a Vertigo show, and Tim made a custom show with 20-25 songs from the Vertigo Tour, enjoy it!

    Downside: it won't sound perfect, it'll have differences in sound and quality from the different shows, one song with more audience than the others, and so on.

    Counterside: we can pretend we're listening to a mixlr stream and it died and so we have to chose a different stream, so it sounds different. We've been doing that for months.

    Upside: it will really be a surprise the set list because nobody knows what's next. Also, in case we don't like the set list instead of complaining to Bono, we'll complain to whoever made the setlist of the day.

    Every week we could have someone different to come up with the show. Most likely there'll be plenty of people wanting to create their own show to broadcast.

    Extra suggestion:
    Create a song value system (that's really very very easy) based on how many times each song was played on that tour (that's also really very very easy thanks to u2gigs), so that it's not that easy to chose rarities for a show.
    i.e. songs played 100% of the time in that tour cost 1 point each; songs played only 5% of the times cost 20 points, songs played 50% cost 10 points, and so on... you only have 50 points to create your show (20-25 songs).
