1. I guess I felt that this album was good enough to come out with more than just one song to start the show...Miracle, California, and ...well, at least those two.

It was good enough , a very solid release . Song For Someone is gorgeous . Full band EBV as well . Too bad they chose to release SOI the way they did .

Volcano 2nd would have worked just fine live , followed by Vertigo > OOC > IWF

EBW full band into Iris would have worked as well . Its such a great tune . Not sure why they didn't even attempt EBV full band . Strange.

The Troubles would have fit in quite nicely before SBS , followed by RBW , as it obviously fits the theme . Troubles > SBS > RBW . Thats a sweet run IMO . Wolves is a fucking beast live .

Was the Troubles even played in Europe ? How was it not played in Ireland ?

Invisible and CB would have fit nicely on the album , over Reach me Now and SLABT . Invisible is a solid tune , I just hate that damn drum machine .

Bottom line , not nearly enough rotation of the new tunes . Still shocked CB and Lucifer Hands weren't even attempted in Europe . CB is brilliant .
  3. I really, really wish they gave The Troubles more attention than they did.
  4. me too. I still listen to the Vancouver rendition. It sounds perfect to my ears.
  5. My sentiments exactly. Getting to experience it at The Forum was AMAZING. It also comes off as an incredibly powerful song. What may not be communicated through bootlegs or video recordings is the heavy atmosphere. Larry with that huge drum commands the entire space.
  6. Yep ny6 was nice getting to see them do it
  7. I guess the high notes were too hard for Bono...
  8. I wish they had played it more, but I feel like they did all they could with this one.

They had it in the fixed setlist, as "proved" by the opening night, having its own imagery and being on the set lists for several more nights when they didn't played it. They wanted to play it, they went for it, they gave it more chances, but whatever they saw or felt during those chances was not good at all.
Either the people didn't got into it, or the mood of the band at that moment in the show didn't felt right for that song, or whatever.

I don't complain about it, they did give it a fair chance and in the end we have more than a couple of great bootlegs with it and its magnificent and improved solo outro.

The e-stage new songs (TCB, LH, Cal, Vol...), on the other hand, are the ones I really wish they had given them more chance (besides obviously the ones never got one in the first place).
  9. I was really looking forward to California before the tour started. It never even occurred to me that it wouldn't be played every night :-(
  10. I hope Cedarwood & RBW make it to the next leg. The rest can be parked up for a while

I know it was a bit polarizing among us diehards but I honestly thought it was going to be the big hit from the album.
