I think when you look at Jools Holland, we were probably expecting California and Volcano to be regulars. They rehearsed 60 songs in Vancouver, including all songs on SOI. It was deudcting all the song that wouldn't work after that - some of those became occasional after that

Its a shame that U2 doesn't give some new or more complicated songs the time to grow into the tour. To many time times they chose for the easy way and play the favorites of the public.

Nowadays we are happy with a surprise song like Party Girl........

I don't think that's true... there were 7 new songs played at every single show in this tour, not counting all the rotational ones. Off course they will play the favorites of the public, the show is for the public after all, but they're playing too many "unsafe" songs in the show as is. Asking for more is being a bit greedy.

+1. It's more variation than a lot of tours, look at 360 and even Lovetown setlists. Besides, I think they are playing for the casual fans more so than hardcore ones.

Its just a personal opinion. Because of the fact that, The Troubles, Crystal Ballroom, Lucifers Hands, California and Volcano are not regulars.

Nevertheless I understand the why U2 play the favorites. But I wish U2 would take some risks, wishfull thinking.

I have to agree with this. If we want to look at the overall diversity of songs played, this tour easily takes the cake. 360 does have greater setlist variation, but that occurred over the course of 100+ shows.

I went to all the NYC shows and got to hear The Troubles, Volcano and Lucifers Hands-all awesome new songs. California is my least favorite on SOI. The 6 that they played every night were part of the core of the show. I get what you are saying Ferrari.

We may well see them return with a different story to tell. This part of the tour may be over, but I doubt it's the last we'll see of Innocence + Experience.
