Joshua Tree Tour 2017
Legs (3): Leg 1 - North America, Leg 2 - Europe, Leg 3 - The Americas
Shows: 52
  1. Don't know about Bon Jovi, but:

    1. The Rolling Stones:
    - in 2014 they played three times the Tokyo dome, which has a capacity of a football stadium - cca 40-50k people.
    - in 2006 they played the Tokyo dome, Saporo Dome (30k), Nagoya Dome (30k) and Saitama Arena (16k).
    - in 2003 they played the Osaka Dome (35k), Tokyo Dome, Yokohama Arena (17k), Budokan Hall (14k)
    - in 1998 they played Osaka Dome and Tokyo Dome

    2. McCartney:
    - in 2015 he played Budokan Hall, Tokyo Dome and Osaka Dome
    - in 2013 he played Tokyo Dome, Fukuoka Dome, Osaka Dome
    - in 2002 he played Tokyo Dome and Osaka Dome

I wouldn't call any of those a stadium tour. It is a matter of an opinion of course, but for me a stadium tour is a tour of mainly open-air places (which from those above is none) with the capacity of 40+k (which from those above is only the Tokyo Dome). Besides - none of those Domes is called a stadium

  2. Fake?

Dome or stadium ... with or without a roof ... it dosn't matter. The point in the discussion is how large the capacity is. Above the 25.000 I would call it a stadium (there's no clear definition). McCartney, the Stones, Bon Jovi, Metallica, Madonna played these large crowds in Japan. Even in some other Asian country's.
  4. In the context of these rumored announcements, it actually matters quite a lot. In Japan, outdoor stadium venues are almost always used for sporting events and are rarely used for music events. The most prestigious venues in Japan for performing arts are the Domes. An official announcement would never announce a stadium tour in Japan if the shows were taking place in Domes.
  5. The biggest live act would probably be Irish rockers U2 at a whopping US$6mil (RM26mil).

Will we ever get a chance to see “the biggest band in the world”, according to Rolling Stone magazine?

    The answer, surprisingly, is yes.

Malaysia Major Events (MME), a division of Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), an agency under the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Malaysia (MoTAC), has been quietly working behind the scenes to secure a performance by U2 sometime next year.

Thoughts? I don't know if they'd go to Malaysia but Australia/NZ will probably happen.
  6. They went to Sarajevo, so this isn't too far out of the realm of possibility. Also, Malaysia and most of South East Asia can be considered a growing market for Western entertainment, so there is a market there. Granted, I think they owe Japan a visit first.
  7. Singapore is regularly/irregularly on Asian tour dates

I'd love some dates in that part of the world. Cheap, quick and easy for me to get tere
  8. I have an ideia, I do not know if anyone's ever done, but make a "Under a Blood Red Innocence", following the stelist from the album : Gloria, 11 O'Clock Tick Tock, I Will Follow, Party Girl, Sunday Bloody Sunday, The Electric Co, New Year's Day and 40.

I don't know anything about mixing, but I let the idea if someone wants to do.

Good idea, even though 11 O'Clock at The Roxy wasn't part of the tour itself (which is criminal, it would have worked wonderfully at the #2 rotating spot in the IE setlist)... But nevermind, hell yeah, gonna produce that mix
