1. That flash and roar was the hilight of every live recording I've listened to. I hate that it's gone and I blame the Vertigo Tour.

Not that I need many more reasons to dislike the Vertigo Tour but butchering Streets is the main one.

could it also have something to do with the emergence of mobile phones?
  3. Possibly I guess. That flash of light always set the room on fire then they ditched it for no good reason. The visuals are spot on again now but the crowd just doesn't explode like it did up to to Elevation.
  4. I thought that the vast majority of the magic was there for 360.

I+E was a strange one. Obviously there should be false imprisonment charges filed against the band for what happened to Streets on the American leg, but even in Europe something was off about it. Just didn't have the punchy energy.
  5. What was wrong with Streets in America? Can't think of it being different
  6. The Mother and Child segue was a bit shit.

I will state for the record that I think the song has been ok as of late but that I really resent that the roar during the flash is no more.

I do get your point about the flash and roar, but imo the flags and "African" chant were amazing and heartwarming. Oh well
  9. I've been noticing that U2 prefers dates on odd days for their shows. If you check it, very often they play for example on the 15, 17 and 19, etc.
    Illuminati conspiracy?
  10. Listening to the rehearsal of One Step Closer before the start of i+e. It sounds good, I wish they'd played it... maybe they'll swap it out as the post-Bullet song for the 'experience' leg? It's got lyrics that better fit that, as it's about Bono's dad passing on, so maybe...

  11. It would appear that new songs don't have a good track record of appearing live again after I've seen them...

Saw the crystal ballroom twice, never to be played again after..
    Lucifers hands once
    California once
    The troubles once
    Mercy once

None of those ever got played at another concert after I saw them
  12. Did you know:
U2 referenced the Something Happens 1990 album, Stuck Together With God's Glue, in their 1997 single "Staring At The Sun".

Yes I did and U2 also "stole" the title and content for The Crystal Ballroom from Something Happens's song with the same title from their album "Bedlam a go go" !!
