1. The inclusion of Please in the 3rd Elevation leg was almost mandatory, and after a shaky but still interesting electric performance, the acoustic version fit without a problem in the setlist.
This tells you that they can fit Pop in a setlist if they are willing to do so.

    Should've done it on I + E...
  3. To honor great album tracks is not a "strong" point of U2.
  4. The only reason I can see the band abandoning Pop (ignoring the fact it did very poorly because NLOTH also did poorly and we heard Magnificent and a lot of MOS) is that the band was not confident in the album when they released it. It would explain why they tried to tweak it with the "new mixes" and may even explain why they are so tentative to release albums now.
  5. Happy Birthday Pop!

Yep, you are probably right. I really love the album from start to finish and absolutely don't understand the band's refusal to give it any acknowledgement. Yeah, they might have been insecure about it, plus the relatively smaller commercial success of both the album and the tour doesn't add to a positive thinking. But at least after all those years I think even they MUST see that it is a lovely collection of great songs that hold very well together. Just what makes a perfect album. I really wish they would come to terms with this masterpiece.
  7. Happy 19th birthday POP!!

I'm hoping they do something to commemorate the 20th anniversary next year, please
  8. I agree!

I love Pop so much. From the very first i+e show, I thought Staring At the Sun would be just perfect for the e-stage...
  9. +1 to both
  10. will be giving it a spin today
  11. Listened to this just this week right through. This truly shows creativity at work.

DYFL and LNOE just fit that album perfectly - and what a bleak ending WUDM is; but it's so dark and ends it perfectly. Maybe on LIB level.
