That'd be cool with all of them as Four5One made plenty of alternate art fo singles and albums.

I wonder if BOY cover will have the boy (used in most of the world) or the band member silouettes (US version).

Heaven knows there are other photos from the October photo sessions that are BETTER than the one used for the cover.

And once they get to POP... that cover always bothered me. I think the idea was good. They were matching a trach Warhol approach with silver that matched the electronic techno elements in some of the tunes. But truth be told, to me, the released cover failed.

The cover on Pop looks intimidating. Just a weird photo.

Thanks for the comment on the cover. I'll do a UABRS and Pop cover as well as the back of Boy.

  2. Interesting stuff. Who is Boyzone? They sound like they'd be a Backstreet Boys/NSYNC type of boy band...
  3. Boyzone is some old Backstreet Boys / NSYNC clone - thank god they're not around anymore.

The Boy bonus disc is likely to have some stuff like:

    - Street Missions
    - The Fool
    - Shadows and Tall Trees
    - Out of Control
    - Fire (instrumental)

Boyzone are an Irish boyband, one of the first. Predecessors to Westlife, if you've heard of them. And they are back this year doing a reunion tour

These rumours seem to be becoming more solid then?

That interview is 3 months old.

It's the fact he acknowledges it that recently. Not the age.
  7. No one was doubting that they'll rerelease their catalogue since last October...
But still no word on release dates or content.

Hopefully they do. More fans need to hear what made U2 popular 30 years ago.

I think to get it out of the way quickly, they'll do a remaster(s) or two every three months. The whole early catalogue was what McGuiness mentioned in the interview - I'd guess this means the 1980s releases (and maybe whatever was recorded in analogue) before the end of 2008 - and possibly into the beginning of 2009.

    So that would be:

    - Boy
    - October
    - War
    - The Unforgettable Fire
    - Achtung Baby
    - Zooropa
    - Pop

Hopefully if they announce details of Boy being re-released I'll submit my cover to four5one and see what they have to say. It's really, highly unlikely they'll actually even give it a thought though - but you can always try and see what happens.

Since they used the exact same cover for the Early Demos EP, it's really more than unlikely that the'll use it for Boy, but asking doesn't hurt.

Of course not. Would they say I'm plagarising their concept, though? Most likely.

I would like to hear Magic Carpet, and a clean version of Alone In The Light, which is actually one of my favorite early early songs. Has anyone else got the Shadows and Tall Trees early demo bootleg? It's a good little jem, it's got

The Dream Is Over (love Edge's backing vox)
Silver Lining (early 11 0' Clock)
    A Day Without Me
    Lost On A Silent Planet
    Another TIme/Another Place
    Alone in the Light
    Like A Song
    Street Mission
    The Fool
    Shadows and Tall Trees
    Surrender
    I WIll Follow
    Sunday Bloody Sunday

The War songs are all live but I forget where, I believe, For Love or Money, had it up there but i believe the site is deceased.
