    ... like The Handler, Defector, Globalist... Aftermath is not too bad...
    Actually if there was no Drill Sergeant (it really pisses me off in Psycho), Mercy and Revolt, it would be pretty decent album
  3. Yeah, I was kidding Reapers, Psycho and The Globalist are the top tracks. The Handler and Defector are fine. Mercy is dreadful though, it's at Undisclosed Desires / Panic Station level.

    Yeah, the more I listened to it the more I disliked it. Just lacks inspiration and full of child's play lyrics.
  6. Agreed. Drones sounded good (or at least "big") at first but it had very little staying power. For instance, the catchiness of "Mercy" wore thin fast, the high-pitched 'Dead Inside' lyric got quite annoying, and Muse seems a little to old/established to be writing a song like "Psycho" ..."your ass belongs to me...," Matt Bellamy, you can do better than that.

    With all the above said, the "Here come the Drones" part in "Reapers" is still pretty effective.
  7. I'd like to add (in a separate post) that Muse deserves a lot of credit for what they have written in the past and the spectacle they put on in their live show. They've produced some amazing albums and I really enjoy listening to many of their live releases. It's gotta be difficult to keep creating good music well into your second decade as a band. Very few bands have been able to do so. U2 and maybe Radiohead come to mind. Heck, the two of biggest of them all (Beatles and Led Zep) didn't make it into their teens and I think we can all agree decade 2 (and 3, 4, and 5) of The Stones' career were nowhere near as good as their first. Even the later work from my beloved Pearl Jam and Oasis pales in comparison to their first few albums.

    My point: Muse you did good. Really good. But where do you go from here?
  8. I bet they are asking the same question.

    Their albums might turn / be turning into just an excuse to go out and play gigs - which is what they enjoy the most (as many bands), and while it's perfectly valid from a bussiness point of view, I'm also pretty sure they will start losing all their extremely loyal old-term followers if they follow that route.
  9. I just don't think they are helping themselves by playing 16-ish songs per show with very few of them coming from two of their best albums. Bands like Pearl Jam and Oasis never forget /forgot what got them there in the first place and play plenty of songs from their first three/two albums.
  10. I'll never have an issue with a stylist being dominated with new material (even when I don't like the new stuff) but take the new stuff out of these setlists and I'm borderline bored. I've never even saw them live.

    I know they will blow my socks off but the setlist doesn't inspire me. Citizens Erased of gtfo.
