1. I share the "watch once, then stuck on the shelf forever" thought too. I realized it a while back and actually stopped buying these DVDs.

    I never bought Rose Bowl

    Well, you've didn't miss anything.
  3. I know, that's why I didn't buy it. I watched the original youtube broadcast live (woke up at 4:30 AM and all that stuff) and it was ok - but when the DVD was announced, I was pissed that they'd taken Breathe (THE SHOW OPENER!!!!!!! for Gods sake) out, so I didn't buy it on release day as I would have normally done... Then I saw how terrible it looked on some youtube previews and just skipped it altogether. I think I've never sat through the whole concert - I've watched bits and particular songs every now and then (mainly Unknown Caller, UTEOTW, TUF, Streets, Ultraviolet and MOS) but never the whole thing in a row. And that's not a good thing to say about one of your your favourite's band live releases
  4. I bought the big Rose Bowl box on ebay, when someone put it up as "at the Rose Ball" and paid less then 30€ for it..... the extras are quite nice.

Saw a 1h cut of it on TV and could barely stand it.....awful editing.

I might glance in, maybe they've learned something but I fear, U2 and me will never agree on live video editing.
  5. nobody has the film of Paris of HBO ?
  6. Sure we have, but the DVD is a new edit. (and it's an official release so we buy and shelf it anyway)

I already completely disliked the Paris cut for European TV.

Is the US cut different from the European?

I believe this was due to technical issues during the recording of Breathe that it wasn't possible to put it in the release..
  9. Yes. They've mixed in some different camera angels for EU and A TON MORE shots of people in the audience. The band wasn't even on stage I have seen way more different people I don't know, than I wanna see in a whole show, to be honest.

The US broadcast was actually the cut, we had from the leaks.
  10. i don't think there will be great differences, but anyway as fan of the band i collect everything i can, so i will buy the dvd too....
  11. I liked POP Mexico and Zoo Sydney but their a lot of other bands who have done great things with their live film show's! i am not saying U2 live DVD's are not great! I watched the rose bowl from 360 and went to a Melbourne show on 360 the next year and honestly i didn't think the DVD did the claw any justice at all, upon seeing the claw in person for the first time i thought the DVD could of been a lot better, however this is just my opinion.
