1. Spin the Black Circle (not usual so late in the set, right?), Black, Alive and Rockin' in the Free World to end. What an finishing quartet, almost as energetic as the starting one!

Also, a set without Better Man... That ain't usual either, right?
  2. Better Man will often miss a show if it was played nearby (or at the same venue) the night before. Same goes for big songs like RVM, Given To Fly (not this time around, however), and Jeremy.
  3. Rival was on the setlist as well but scratched and replaced with Tremor Christ. It seems from people who were there that the beginning of encore 1 was a real drag. They need to fix that part of the show. They have some great acoustic songs but they rely on the same ones in those spots. Awesome to see WMA and Soldier of Love making an appearance..
  4. And how could I forget.....ITS OK!!!!!!

Ooooh...I like RIval and it is very "due."

The three-or-so-acoustic-songs-to-start-the-first-encore strategy is probably getting a bit stale - and yes, if they are going to keep doing it, bring out the big guns. Although it hasn't been officially advertised as such (or has it?) it's the 25th anniversary tour so might as well get nostalgic. Everyone in the crown wants to!
  6. Ok so I just got home from Miami....went to Key Biscane Beach this morning with the wife......wild show last night..crowd was bonkers .. GA was out of control and reminded me of those great South American fans..just wild..few guys from Brazil were behind me last night going wild..all good......at one point some dude jumped onstage ( I think during SOLAT) turned around and jumped back into the pit..he crowd surfed almost all the way to the back..lol

Opening run was great..until Save You ...IMO its just brutal , why not ANIMAL there ???

Pilate and Dissident were fantastic...WMA took me by surprise ..love it...

Infallible came just as I had to pee...its a great bathroom/beer run song....what a dud tune , killed that great run and went down like an anchor at sea... ...Daughter is..well a classic... its always welcomed and went over huge....

Personally I could do without Sad and Down...play Not For You and Last Exit there..but hey , its EV and he loves to play some odd rare tunes so whatever....

2 guys up front had Tremor Christ written on their foreheads...lol..they were fucking nuts lol....Ed of course loved it , and in return they played a great version of said song.....awesome stuff....

Jeremy SOLAT and RVM were the highlights of the main set..which I felt was rather uneven at times....

Encore 1 bored me to tears at the start....no one knew Good Woman..at all..Just Breathe is another yawn and Sleeping is just fucking dreadful .. I knew we were in trouble once the ukulele came out lol

Once that sleeper run was over , things turned around..in a huge way...Comfortably Numb was AMAZING..no other way to describe it....and was the highlight song for me...no question....Sirens was good..I enjoy it but not there..plus I got it the night before.... GTF and ONCE absolutely tore the roof off the building..the pit went ballistic during the chorus for GTF..haven't seen a reaction like that since my European PJ shows ages ago.....

Encore 2 was brilliant..BLACK both nights ?? no problem..love it and its my fav PJ tune.......SPIN THE BLACK CIRCLE !!!!.....during RITFW Ed had some dude up on stage in a wheelchair...not sure if he was an Army Vet or a guy Ed had mentioned earlier in the show that crowd surfed in his wheelchair back in the day....great moving moment no question..the band were speechless hugging him...

I always say , any show with SOLAT and STBC is a show Ill take anytime..this was the case last night....

The energy last night was better than Lauderdale....it was just crazy loud all night..great vibe.... 2 great shows.....staying over in such a great city as Miami was so worth it.....Miami by a nose over Lauderdale .

Highlights: PILATE , Dissident , WMA , Tremor Christ , JEREMY , SOLAT Comfortably Numb ....GTF RITFW.....a few duds played yes...but really a great show to be at ...

Off to Tampa in the morning !!!!!!!
  7. Encore 1 needs work. Tons of great songs they can play if they wanna slow things down.
  8. Infallible is such a great song on the album but it's one of those rare songs that is worse live. Nothing wrong with how they perform it , it's just too long and mid tempo to do anything for the crowd.
  9. Agree..

Hard To Imagine , Bee Girl, Off He Goes , Im Open..etc..list is endless..play Black acoustic maybe ?? ala MTV '92.....heck Garden is a slower type tune....play that...

Footsteps was fantastic N1 and did not lose the crowd one bit , unlike last night...so the songs are obviously there ....

Id rather the band just blast the roof off the place....but slower tunes are cool..Sleight Of Hand and Parting Ways are also good tunes I'd enjoy .
  10. I knew we were in trouble once the ukulele came out lol
    hahahaha lol
Nice review Ed, glad you had a blast both nights. I never guessed a Pink Floyd cover would be the highlight of the show for you!

Since Im heading up to Tampa tomorrow , I thought I'd dust off this old classic..really solid show....very solid actually. The band sound amazing here and I highly recommend this gig...The performance is extra gritty and aggressive, and the sound quality is bright, crisp, and clean (except for a recording error during "Last Exit" which causes this song to be placed at the end of the bootleg where it doesn't belong). The set list is full of surprises, with many songs that appear very rarely elsewhere in the series....

This show contains the tour's first attempt at the opening combo of Pink Floyd's Interstellar Overdrive, which then segues directly into Corduroy. Garden makes its one and only American appearance here, and the band gives the best rendition of this track yet - far better than most of the European versions, in which they didn't bother to play the song's powerful finale.

One of my personal favorites, Tremor Christ appears for the first time in the tour. I loved it last night in Miami .

Encore 1 is just brilliant...HAIL HAIL !? Immortality? ...awesome ...

Nick I mentioned to you earlier.....Garden NEEDS to get back in the encore forthwith and here it is....maybe some karma for tomorrow ?????????

The band leave the stage after Indifference..the show is thought to be over , but no.....they come back for yet a 3rd encore...RITFW..
  12. Oh, Ed. Always so tough on "Save You" and so soft on "Pilate."

(Glad you had - or should I say "are having" - a great time!)
