1. Well I guess U2 didn't need Zoo Tv or Popmart.
  2. I'm definitely an Oldplay fan. Their first 4 albums were very good. I did not like MX, and I gave Ghost Stories and AHFOD both a chance but it just wasn't really Coldplay, anymore, to me. They were innovative, but it didn't work for them like it did with U2. That's just me though (though I liked Everglow quite a bit).

Yellow is one of my favorite songs and I love Clocks

    Are you a U2 fan?
  4. Who 2?

But I think there's a difference between a tour and a festival performance. And yes, U2 has a habit of doing too much with their video's, lights etc. imo. Zoo TV was great, amazing but if you ask me Popmart and 360 were too much. The current tour is pretty cool but I think the video's, the screens etc. kinda distracts from the music, at least that's how I experienced it.
  5. Well, it'll probably be much better than Kanye's cherrypicker from last year. That was a cool idea though.

  6. Haha it was kinda strange to put him as one of the headliners in the first place. Same goes for Adele this year, they're both good artists but I don't think it really fits at a festival.
But looking at it there aren't many young/new groups who are good and popular enough to carry a main stage place at one of the big festivals....
  7. Been playing a lot of Coldplay B-sides lately (thanks Spotify!). Some real gems. I Ran Away, Things I Don't Understand, Careful Where You Stand, The World Turned Upside Down and Lost?

I don't see myself as an Oldplayer or a Newplayer. I like most of their music. MX, VLV and AHFOD are my favourites. In that order.

Also Moving To Mars may be the best Coldplay song ever.

I remember those songs very well from when I became a big Coldplay fan (about 14 years ago, time flies..), I Ran Away is one of my favourite songs which always brings me back to certain times of my live.

    Other b-sides I really like:
I Bloom Blaum (such a lovely little tune, I wish I could play this!)
Such A Rush (build up is amazing here with an amazing end)
    For You
One I Love (also featured on their 2003 DVD)

  9. I was also surprised to find out that both Muse and Coldplay are bringing some of their own tour implements to Glastonbury. The Pyramid Stage itself is a very iconic symbol of Glastonbury, so I'm curious as to how both these bands will bring in their own elements and if those elements will distract from the iconic stage.
  10. Great interview. He's so cheery.

New version of the Xylobands coming too?

  11. Ghost Stories has grown on me a lot. I really like it now.
  12. I bought it when it came out, it was some version with a couple extra tracks. As mush as I tried to get into it, I never could. Which tracks do you prefer off of Ghost Stories, Paul?
