Yes , and the fact that AB is one of the greatest albums ever helped . Didn't take much for me to go see U2 in '92 .

ZooTV was fun , but the music was amazing
  2. Tomorrow, or today in some countries, is the 23rd anniversary of Zooropa.

To celebrate, we have just published a new slideshow going into the meaning and themes of the album and its individual songs.

Zooropa: uncertainty as a guiding light

Hope you like it as much as I like Zooropa!
  3. It's a great slideshow, everyone read it !!
  4. Oh man, we can talk about the themes of Zooropa for hours.
I don't know where I read it (or my filthy subconscious is betraying me), but another interpretation of Babyface is a man addicted to pornography (only through tv back in those days) mixed with voyeurism.
Babyface anticipated the insane modern obsession with disposable reality-show stars.
  5. Your (surely filthy) subconscious is not betraying you – I've read that interpretation as well.
  6. lol, it wasn't me, it was "the cousin of a friend of mine"
  7. I've been listening to the title track on repeat for weeks now. It's so dreamy, layered with some of Edge's finest effects. Lyrically outstanding too.

My third favourite U2 album after AB and JT, still fresh years after first listening to it.
  8. The title track might very well be their best song ever, all things considered. It's just perfect from 0:00 to 6:31 in every single way.
  9. Yes Zooropa is an incredible song, one of my very favourites too. Best listened to with headphones in a crowded place.
  10. love this slideshow! very insightful, and pointing out interpretations I haven't considered before. it's simply amazing how a u2 song can mean so many things, depending on who's listening and at what point in their life they're doing so...

thanks you for putting this together!
  11. Happy Birthday to the best U2 album!

Listening to The First Time. Such a great song!

Thanks Remy for the slideshow too! Great stuff.
