However, another part of me thinks of the Clinton Foundation gig with Sunday Bloody Sunday, One, and I Still Haven't Found....... And Miss Sarajevo and Staring at the Sun. Hits and rarities at a show for people who probably wanted only hits, so like many of you have said, anything is possible.
And A Man And A Woman's live debut I still can't fully believe they actually did that set.
  2. If that set was a full band gig, it would probably be legendary. But... it was just Bono and Edge doing their thing. It's still surprising they dusted off a Pop song after ten years since last playing it and picked an album oddity they'd never done before.

Normally, I might be right there with you. But I'd love to be there. U2 might be the only act I would really enjoy, but it would be fun to see Billy Idol. Even if it is the old warhorses, I am coming to terms that U2 might never again have a wonderful non-commercial song again. The best on the last album were not even actually on the album, as Lucifier's Hands and Crystal Ballroom were my favorite.

Those who remember me on here may have some sort of understanding of how emotional I am about losing Prince. I treasure the joy U2 have given me, and yes, I am human, I will likely complain about the next subscription gift, "The Miracle of The Edge Lithograph Door Mats!" Uggh! And I will likely complain about the setlist of the next show I get to, if they play anywhere near Florida....but in the end, I will always love them, and look forward to seeing their Iheart set when I can on You Tube or wherever.
The point of this ramble is so glad U2 are with us,

You've got a very grown up attitude towards it, which I'd like to have and actually really envy. So, thumbs up to you (no sarcasm).
You're right, we actually should all be grateful for what they've given us by now. Thankful for anything they'd be doing by now. Even a greatest hits tour, bringing out old demo's etc should be received greatly. But personally I somehow still want them to suddenly come up with a new Streets song, or a smashing nr.-1 hit single so I can walk around proudly about our band... And it saddens me that it's less and less thinkable.
  4. Oh my lanta I forgot about that! That's it. Mofo, Acrobat, New Song, New Song, Discotheque, and close with 40 tomorrow night.
  5. streets, b-day and Joey ramone are guarantees, one is most definitely due to the civil unrest in the states. Mways and pride are a probable, a few will be either/or songs like BAD/AIWIY, vertigo/elevation. and the rest will be based on Bono's voice - if his voice is strong WOWY will be played. may see another SOI song if they have the screens to play to. bigger question will be how many songs they will play. I was hoping for 10-12, but the consensus here seems to be 6-8. They always play extra when doing these type of shows like Saturday Night live or a late night talk show. they will have to come out and be playing at an eleven and keep it there the whole way if they only get 6 songs to play and I just don't see this being worth it for the band if that's the case. I would love to see them do "wake up" over the PA then start with Bday, I will follow, joey ramone, Mways, streets, bad, pride, one, WOWY...the only song I would get excited about here is BAD(and of course streets), but this show is for the audience in the building and this is a fair, if condensed, representation of what a U2 show is like. and that is what I hope they try to bring
  6. 3.10pm Adelaide time, very nice!
  7. 23 hours
  8. I think they might have a suprise for us
  9. maybe the I&E tour stage and screens, and if so then a longer set than 6-8 songs? I don't care for any collaborations.
  10. I think Kygo will join them on stage for The Best Thing
  11. Report from Las Vegas by our friend Jeff (anstratdubh1979) who got it from another friend:

    Spoiler (click to toggle)
    "U2 Vegas update:
The band just finished rehearsal at 11:15pm here at the T-Mobile Arena.
Rocko said he was here for 14 hours.
Dallas said they "tried practicing the new songs but can't get it together".
Terry Lawless said they practiced all day yesterday in Burbank, got 3 hours of sleep, then came to Las Vegas this morning and played all day inside the arena.
Sam O'Sullivan said he loves the new arena, the acoustics are great. Much better than the MGM Grand here in Vegas, where they normally played in the past.
They're all exhausted and will go straight to bed tonight and sleep all day tomorrow and come back here tomorrow night.
No sound check tomorrow, this was it tonight.
Just met Adam, he took a couple of photos and shook everyone's hands. There are twenty fans here.
Security kicked us out before we can meet the other band members"
    So...
    1. No new songs.
    2. Tour announcement doesn't appear to happen before January"

Take it with a pinch of salt but hey.
